It seems some elves were busy last night. No, they weren't helping us cobble shoes but rather sealing up the publishing deal for Double Fine's Brütal Legend. Having been hanging in limbo for quite some time now after Activision's merger with Vivendi Games, the rock opus starring Jack Black will be published by EA. The news came as a fan-site discovered that BrutalLegend.com pointed to an EA website. Shortly after, Joystiq received confirmation from Double Fine that Brütal Legend is definitely being published by EA and that the title is expected to arrive in fall 2009.
It's about time.

Wow, that news has really made my day!
I really hope the inclusion of Jack Black will bring a bigger crowd to this game - its a given that the game will be awesome, but it would be such a shame if it ended up being a bit of a flop (like Psychonauts). I want the guys to have enough money to keep making cool games!
