Capcom denies Monster Hunter 3 multiplatform rumor
Players in Japan already lining up for the next installment in Capcom's hugely popular Monster Hunter franchise can do so with a measure of confidence that Monster Hunter 3 tri~ will remain exclusive to the Wii. 1UP reports that Capcom has come forward to dispel rumors that the title would make its way to the PSP as well, writing on the game's official website that despite comments made in "a certain magazine," the hotly anticipated 2009 release "utilizes the unique features of the Wii to their fullest, and development continues with the intention of creating a Monster Hunter never before seen."
While not exactly a ringing endorsement for multiplatform support, you can blame the doubting looks on our faces on Capcom's track record with platform exclusivity. After all, we eventually played Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 and Monster Hunter 3 itself was at one time announced for the PlayStation 3. Clearly, the only thing for certain here is that Capcom likes money.

Very true.
Though maybe they mean that Monster Hunter 3 will go to the PSP, the same way the PS2 Monster Hunters went to the PSP.

I like how they describe waggle and bad graphics as "unique features".
Only makes sense and this game is hugely popular in Japan which is seeing amazing wii sales. With this and Dragon Quest there will be no chance of getting even close to the Wii in the land of the rising sun.
Microsoft made a good run at, hope we still see some JRPG on it in the future.

What about the PS3? I hear people in Japan are willing to work a second job just to get one!

The graphics are actually very good, the best on the Wii thus far, and far better than anything last-gen. In fact, from what i've seen from videos, it looks as good as early 360 games like Dead Rising, and videos make the game look worse than it really is.
I'm just hoping they incorporate the controls well. All of the big-budget Wii titles have amazing controls, very accurate and intuitive, but of course, most Wii titles, the ones with small budgets, are crappy-waggle-fests. I'm sure this game will be different like Zelda, THDJ, Prime 3, RE4 and all the other A+ titles.

Looks like the other platforms can't handle it, who says the Wii isn't powerful, its just too bad the other platforms are the PSP.

HOLY CRAP I REMEMBER THAT GAME, that was by far the game that enjoyed the most on my PSX, you just made my day. I remember the announcer sound a lot like the dude who announced soul caliber. Damn you just made by day..

It's obviously going to end up on the PSP... twice.

This is Capcom we're talking about
the Japanese EA

While it might hurt my fanboy pride a bit, it would make sense at least. PSP install base is well ahead of the Wii install base in Japan (indeed, the difference in Japan is the only reason PSP still has a larger WW install base), and Monster Hunter has proven itself better as a local wifi multiplayer game than an online one
Though Capcom will, smartly, be using their own servers, so being Wii exclusive won't impact it negatively in terms of online play

How can you guys badmouth Capcom like that? These are the people who gave us Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Okami, and Zack and Wiki.
Heck, I'm still waiting for a Sakura (SFAlpha2) game that has RPG elements.

It'll be a guaranteed 3 million units + seller on PSP in Japan. So of course it's coming to PSP at some stage.
