Bungie moved onto other products, but they still support Halo 3... Just sayin'. Not starting a flamewar or anything.

Bungie will have a bigger team, more man power or even just better resource management.

One thing is for sure the two studios obviously have different ideas as to what's next. Where Bungie want a game and maps, Infinity Ward want just a game.

Their next game may probably be more taxing project than ODST and will require more man power if that's the case.

Exactly. I bought CoD4 about the time it came out. And I'm still playing it. I would love some new maps. Developers need to take notes from Bungie. They put out new maps every 4-6 months.

I agree. Criterion Games (another example) is still heavily supporting Burnout Paradise and has not spoken of their next project yet. Valve continues to support Team Fortress 2. Personally I think this method of release and long term support to be better than the fuck and chuck system currently in use. Build a new campaign for COD4, bring in some new maps and modes, maybe some weapons. etc.. Though I have a feeling Activision sees it differently.

COD4 got a little love on the PC version. There is one extra map (a Christmas themed map), some extra game modes and a higher player cap.

Meh, CoD4's multiplayer was never that great anyways. Single-player was flippin' fantastic though, so I'm glad they moved more people on the team of their future projects.

Is it okay if I disagree with you about the multiplayer...I can't remember the last game that I was still playing the 10 months after I bought it.

I agree with him, the multiplayer is an unbalanced, camping, insta-gib fest.

I've played it thoroughly, and my biggest complaint about it is lack of static spawns, which means Johnny can spawn behind you magically. But there are also a lot of other complaints.

It is all personal preference though, I guess I can be considered old school.

It's not a bad multiplayer game by any means, it just has a few flaring flaws that I felt really held it back from being one of the best multiplayer games around.

I played for around a week on my PC but quickly switched back to TF2. I loves me some TF2.

I actually did not see a problem with COD4 spawning. But WAW spawing is abismal.

I really liked CoD4's multiplayer a lot, but their spawning system needs some serious (SERIOUS) work.

I know it's not realistic at all, but they need SOME form of spawn protection, even if it's only a second. There have been many times when they spawn me in a fierce firefight, or just in an unlucky position and I'm dead pretty much instantly. It doesn't happen all THAT often, but it does get annoying sometimes.

Also, the killcam sometimes varies WILDLY from what you've seen on your screen. I know I've seen many times where that little 'x' comes up and that sound plays to denote you've hit your target (I really like that) and it happens enough times where your target SHOULD be dead, but he isn't so he kills you. His killcam then only show you hit him once, when you're SURE you hit him at least 3-4 times.

Game companies need to start doing more for their games if they want to stand out. I bet half the reason why games don't sell as well as they generally do is b/c once it's pushed out the door, the developers themselves move on completely. COD4 (i think) sold around 10mil copies so I bet there's still plenty of people playing online who would like continued support.

This is why companies like blizzard sell so many more copies of their game. Not only are the games polished but they support them for years with updates. To this day I haven't traded away any of my blizzard games.

Seriously, Blizzard just patched freaking Starcraft a few weeks ago. This is how companies should operate. Although Blizzard does have a steady infusion of cash going into their coffers, maybe other companies would too if they made games that were as good and supported them better.

let's be fair, StarCraft is the exception, not the rule. Blizzard has to continue supporting it, otherwise South Korea will send an elite hit-squad to Irvine.

I vote to rename the 'flamewar' to STFUA. now with sony out of the picture all you 'white' folks can have all the shelves to yourselfs. and by white folks i mean wii and ms girlfriends that love talking to eachother. and by talking to eachother i mean screaming and sounding like a dying chicken. and by dying chicken i mean pubesent girls. and by pubesent girls i mean not manly. and by not manly i mean girls.

and the 'white' remark isnt about race......Only that the only color'd console of the bunch gets treated like a redheaded step child.

Just sayin.... wii.....ms {(-elite)most ppl cant afford} ds most sold has been polar white. then their is the PSP.... get back in that basement.... no gamez for u.....and the biggun.....no gamez for you get back in the attic.

MAKES ME SICK TO THINK WE STILL LIVE IN A WORLD WERE PEOPLE STILL COUNT THE MINORITY OUT.

~~~~~sarcasm~~~~~~
p.s i dislike ms and wii. wouldnt take them if you would give it to me for free. thats how blind iam is.
Bungie or Blizzard doesn't have another dev house developing Halo 4 or Starcraft 2 to be released 1 year after.
COD:WaW is a good game and ActiBlizzard is just figuring you're going to move on to the next iteration of the COD franchise (which is evident considering November's NPD's) with a whole new single player campaign and new maps.
Welcome to the world of console gaming where a lot of us have short term memories and we move onto the next big thing. If you want your game to be supported forever, go Valve/Blizzard on your PC.
Just sayin.
I don't care that there are no new maps or playlists.
But fourzerotwo sucks as a Community Manager. He posted numerous times about the playlist updates, what they were, that they were testing (even inviting some community members to play). And then - nothing, nada, zip for months until this snippet in the forums seemingly months after the decision was made.
The answer, of course, is FREE DLC.
This gives the impression that you are working to bolster what came out with the original game without sucking additional money out of people's pockets. No one will know if you actually had that bonus multiplayer map finished six months before the game went gold, right?
Haha.
No, but seriously folks, just take a look at Team Fortress 2. The game has changed massively since it came out and they haven't asked for an extra cent from me. Valve is number 1 in my books and there's no reason we can't have another dev team become "Valve clones" with respect to their philosophies.
I think COD4 (from a pc fps guy's persepective) was just too repetitious, the maps as said above were boring after a few go arounds, TDM, DM, and hardcore had terrible balance issues, and the only mode that stood out was Seek/Destroy.. and for some reason there are hardly any servers up for it. I'll keep my Battlefield 2 kkthnxbai
