I am as well, but I wonder what price point Microsoft has set for this, its free on PC but I'm guessing that it'll be 800 points.

It could still be free - wasn't the Burnout DLC free? Delivered as a patch so they don't have to go through the marketplace.

Or something. If I make no sense, I blame fatigue :'{

Solution to the bad community and all that. Join the PC world for Valve/Steam games. TF2 is so much better on PC, as is the community. Plus all updates are indeed free. And its just an overall better experience.

And I know, this is an xbox360 fanboy site. I own an xbox360 though. Have played both versions of this game and must say in this situation, PC legitimately wins.

Just try PC for once if you havnt yet.

Valve has philosophy where they make all updates free, to make they're online community huge. Think of all the people who played Counterstrike, and classic.

I expect this update about two days after Duke Nukem Forever.

Unfortunately I'm one of them. Switched over to Gears, and now Left 4 Dead.

It's a shame, the game has been out for over a year, and it's "still in development"?

I got tired of playing with people who didn't have mics, wouldn't team play and would constantly glitch.

I honestly don't know if I'll go back. I wasn't very good, either - which didn't help things much ;)

Yeah, it's really sad. I stopped playing myself. I miss it, but the community sucks too much now to make it worth not only going back to, but paying at least $10 get the needed changes to play again.

Actually this is completely false. A lot of people still play TF2 on the 360 and servers quickly fill to 16/16 fast, the problem is Valve really screwed up the online server browsing system for TF2 on 360. No way to see full servers, a server list per map instead of just being able to see all servers currently playing.

Being able to see full servers may seem like an unwanted feature, until you realise that people actually are playing Hydro, its just the damn servers are always full for it, so you never see it in the server list.

I still play, in fact I just finished a session! The game is just so much fun when you get a good game that it's worth sitting through some of the crap.

OK, what I was trying to say is that the majority of the GOOD players have moved on. They've either moved to the PC or they're playing other games. The majority of the people playing TF2 on the 360 now suck. All the good players I used to play with and against are gone. No one uses a mic(I know a lot of people did before, but the number that do significantly dropped), no one works together, and it's just an overall crappier experience than it was last year.

If you really want to play the demo you can find it on a torrent site and burn it to a DVD. It will show up in the tray as a mixed media disc, but if you go to your demos it will show up there.

It's 7 bucks cheaper to get the Orange Box new off Amazon than at a GameStop.

I still have yet to finish Half Life 2 on the orange box yet.

Portal was amazing.

People like me try to play Team Fortress 2, but it it isn't as fun as the original or much fun at all for that matter. Considering that the original Team Fortress was just a Half-Life mod released 10 years before Team Fortress 2, What greater criticism could there be?

sadly, as mentioned there are not a lot of people playing it on the 360.. ive got 2 friends addicted... 200k more to go.

I wish they would release TF2 as an XBLA title for less money than I could buy The Orange Box for used. Then, together with these updates, I'd get it and any future map packs.

I paid $60 new for the Orange Box and I still think it's worth it. And the main reason I wanted it was for Portal.
It's down to $20 and you still think that's too much? $20 is worth it for one game, not to mention five.

I couldn't care less about any of the other games in The Orange Box. And, I'd rather have it on my hard drive for quick games when friends login than have to find a disc for such a little game.

It is a multiplayer only game that has been out for quite a while. I think $15 is fair for it.

The community is still active in player matches and having a lot of fun. I've been playing all the time for the past two weeks alone and I haven't fun into any glitchers or people with no mics.

Come back to Team Fortress 2 (Manchester 0) !

"looks" not "loos", Loo is a toilet.

I don't ever do this, but I just read two posts in one day from you Richard that contain spelling errors.

The previous mistake was in the L4D/Zero Punctuation post: it is "gauge", not "guage".

Thanks!

This is much expect from VALVe who are always late on dates whenever they claim its gonna happen.

But I really hope, when they do come out, they'll include some of the best mod maps and whatnot.

I'd be willing to wait for PC finishing their updates on all the classes then give a full update on the 360.

It has to do with a lot of things. One of the main reasons the updates haven't come to the 360 yet is because they've all been rather small, and microsoft would charge valve for each minor update and tweak they've been adding slowly over time. Another thing Microsoft does is insist on charging for new content (The new maps and weapons) and rather than nickel and dime their customers every time they fixed balancing issues, Valve wants to deliver a complete pack of updates in order to save money, both for them, and for the consumer.

On PC it's different, updates are done though Valve's own steam service so they can do whatever they want without losing any money.

@CaramelZappa
Well patchs have always been free for all games on 360. The only thing Microsoft seems to insist on is charging for additional content, like maps (and the classes extra weapons will no doubt also come under this category).

But yeah, the patches are out quicker for the PC also because they do not have to go through certification like all 360 games/patches do.

Still, it confuses me to no end how EA manage to push out free content on Burnout Paradise and how Valve can't somehow get Microsoft to allow them to also give it for free. The worst part is, its actually in Microsofts best interests to have this free.

Really looking forward to this update hitting the 360. I actually picked the 360 version of Orange Box back in October, as i already owned TF2 off Steam (on its own) but was lacking Portal and HL2 &1&2. I completely love the game and the 360 version for me just feels so much more comfortable than the PC version does. Thats just me of course, so no need to reply saying i'm crazy, i love the 360 TF2 community :P I'd love to see them re-release TF2 for 360 as a standalone disk or downloadable (much like Portal) because it really is a great multiplayer game and very addictive!

Still bugs me how long they are taking with this update but i understand they are waiting until they can just release it in a big bulk, which will make it easier for us gamers. Hopefully won't cost to much but i'm more than willing to support TF2 (unlike other 360 games).

This is easily one of my favorite games for the 360, and I've played it ALOT, so it would be great to see some enchancements, maps or additional content or even tweaks. A while ago I noticed zero gravity was occassionally available, which made it a whole new game.

My only complaint about the game is the matchmaking system is slightly flawed. Sometimes you'll see a ton of games online and try to join one and get rejected because they're full, then immediately do another browse of available games and see nothing. It's weird. It'll also allow you to attempt to join a full game more than once, which never works. And I wish it wouldn't allow you to join a game during sudden death, when forces you to spectator and out of the game if the host shutdowns after the game is over.

But those complaints aside, it's a great multiplayer team game.

I reckon there's a bit of dealing going on under the table between Valve and Microsoft. But anyhow, it's just good to know that DLC is on it's way.
