i guess since its a band game, they know most people are only going to buy the full band set so they can play with friends or the standalone to use rock band's instruments with it. thus, buy offering this deal, more people would want to get the guitar bundle. if it applies to all current dlc, i would definitely get the hendrix pack and consoler of the lonely & salute your solution by the raconteurs.

considering how i'm going to want to play drums, i'll get the full band set eventually. i was just saying the reasoning behind it.

"Consoler of the Lonely"

Kind of ironic given that you're only getting one guitar with it, eh?

POS Activision showing disrespect to Wii owners. They were great offering SD Card support, now they've snubbed the Wii audience. I'd like to see sales comparisons of the game over the formats to see which one has sold better thus far, but with the Wiis install base, the Wii version would probably end up selling more. Why isn't the Wii version offered too?

If it's selling well, there's no reason to offer free stuff with it to encourage purchases.

Maybe they're not giving the points for it and they're just straight up giving vouchers for the DLC so people won't buy something else, and the Wii Shop isn't set up to work with that? Just a guess.

Actually, I believe Sora is right.

It is possible to redeem a code on XBLM and PSN and get a certain item.

However, on the Wii, you can only redeem codes for points. Nintendo could update that.... but they most likely wont.

You could give them your Wii Number or Friend Code or Serial Number or something. Then the next time you boot up the Music Shopping on GH:WT, you're greeted with 5 free songs?

You can redeem codes, like for the Wii Speak Channel, and there were hints of redeem codes coming with games in the new update.

Activision/Red Octane has stated that the Wii's online infrastructure isn't set up to even be capable of offering track packs for the slightly lower price that other systems get them.
Wii owners are stuck with paying 200 Wii Points for every song, no 550 Wii Point deals here...

I assume this falls into that category. The only thing they could do is bundle 1000 Wii Points with it, which requires working with Nintendo and spending money to give things for free... and there's also the potential that people would simply spend the 1000 Wii Points on something else entirely.
(shrugs) I would. DLC is so far away from cost-efficient anyway... 25 songs= price of brand new game.

I'd rather get the Band Kit... $10 in DLC isn't that enticing, considering I'd like to play Drums as well.

I love the new Guitars. they feel perfect, I just wish they weren't wireless. I can't tell you how much I hate my Les Paul. I bought a second (and 3rd) Xplorer for $10 ea at Toys R Us, and I don't think I'll use my Les Paul again. Faulty buttons and batteries need changing every day.

If I could get wired GHWT Controller in a band kit, I'd be in heaven.

I heard this promo...and I was scatching my head as well.

I know that right now, there are four songs available for free (the Activision Pack and the Guitar Duel packs released at the same time as the game)

There are also those three reggae songs that they are offering either next week or the week after, which would be 7 free songs.

I get this sneaky feeling that it's going to be those tracks.

It's only $90 on the PS2, which doesn't have DLC. It's $100 on the other systems. Try reading your own articles that you link to next time... Version I bought. Just hope it's something new. I've bought everything they've released so far. Making it the Euro pack 2 would be awesome... Shouldn't it be coming REAL soon since it ends in 17 days?

Well, found the number (it's under the top battery), but when I entered them the first time, I had an error in the user ID, and it told me so. Now when I try to enter them, it says both numbers are invalid. There is still no mention of the pomotion on the GH site that I can find. Anyone actually get this to work yet?

I am having a similar problem. My owner ID on the back of my manual is 20 letters and numbers in 5 groups of 4, where as the redemption web site asks for 20 letters and numbers in 4 groups of 5. I tried entering them anyway but it comes back as invalid. WTF.

Same deal here... The format of the Owner ID on the form does not match what is on the user manual. I tried putting the 20 characters in anyway but it said invalid owner id. I submitted something through customer support. Haven't heard anything yet.

It's fixed. You have to select from a list of ten songs:

Blind Melon - "No Rain", Oasis - "The Shock of the Lightning", Boston - "Rock and Roll Band", R.E.M. - "Supernatural Superserious", Foreigner "Hot Blooded", Raconteurs - "Salute your Solutions", The Killers - "Human", Rick Springfield - "Jessie's Girl", Nirvana - "Silver", Smashing Pumpkins - "The Everlasting Gaze".

The website is pretty poorly put together. The check boxes do not line up with the songs (look well below for the check boxes that correspond to the last two tracks). Once you submit some info (use the tab key to navigate to the addition questions) and select your songs, you'll get a message saying that you will receive an email within 4 to 6 weeks. Almost not worth it. Poorly executed Activision. Still, free is free. Good luck.
