Rumor: Gears 2 Combustible DLC releases soon!

According to a few eagle-eyed members of the official Epic Games forums, a new Gears of War 2 Combustible Map Pack will be announced tonight at the Spike TV Video Game Awards and will be available via the XBLM Monday morning at 3AM eastern.

Per comments made on the Epic forums, Spike's live stream of the award show was (for a brief period) online and was displaying all the award show's rehearsal footage. Oops? The rehearsal footage supposedly showed new Combustible Map Pack DLC for Gears 2 that's set to release in early Monday morning. No other details were revealed, but we have a hunch we'll be seeing an Imulsion map among the mix. Seeing that the live feed is no longer active (or crippled under the bandwith strain), we can't verify the DLC announcement or its release, so keep your eyes glued to Spike TV tonight at 9PM eastern.

if they are not free, i am willing to boycott the purchase of DLC until Epic fixes the major problems with the game.

Patch before DLC purchase!

Its sad, but I totally agree that this game needs major fixes before I will PAY for any DLC.

I agree. I'm not paying for maps until I am no longer forced to wait 20 minutes to play a game. It just doesn't make sense. I barely know the current maps because of all the online problems.

At first I thought "AWESOME! NEW MAPS!"... which is what I do when I hear about new Halo 3 maps. But then I remembered, "Crap. It's Gears 2..."

I agree.. I won't be paying for DLC when the Multiplayer is completely broken (when a game is eventually found, that is). I'm completely sick of someone who is running at me straight with the Chainsaw and I shoot them at point blank with the Shotgun, and not only do they not die, they are still able to chainsaw me.

No patch, no pay... I guess I'll just have to wait until March for the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack.

Snap. Fix the chainsaw, fix the broken weapons, fix the lag, fix the matchmaking.

If it's free, awesome, you're still not excused for your broken game though.

If they make you pay I simply won't even bother getting them. I remember that they released a map pack for Gears 1 for like $10 and then a few months later they made it free. So I'm not going to waste money on something I'll probably play once or twice when eventually it'll turn up for free.

Yeah, it would be nice if they were free. However, there is a popular game out right now with maps that are kinda old now and still aren't free even though all of the previous map packs went free after not nearly as long a while. Just saying that free stuff is getting harder and harder to come by. I do hope though. They could patch the game and fix it, give us new maps, and then say "Thanks, gamers, for being patient, and as a token of appreciation for your continued support, here are some free maps". That would make things all better, right?

I'll wait 6 months until there free and I can play with everyone instead of hardly play them. They really don't look that great from the pictures. Yes the game needs fixes not DLC maps.

If they charge for these maps and dont fix the game.....I feel The Gears community will go crazy man...I hope they dont do that..

Yea, but it's only a map pack, so no achievements my friend. I would never cough up money on a game add-on unless i get cheevos too

Adding achievements is up to the developer. They're allowed 250GS for each DLC pack, no matter what it is. The Halo 3 map packs got them added after the map packs were actually released, but they were added nonetheless.

I'll look at it from a different point of view. More maps for Horde mode!

i don't care what everyone says about gears 2 there is like one problem with the game and and that's a real small one i cant wait for the new maps right when they come out no matter what the cost is I'm gonna buy then

Quick note from the Haz Guy... Your label is wrong. Class 3 is just flammable liquid, you wan t a 4.2 label. The top half is white, and will have a 4 (or 4.2) at the bottom.
