Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is passing the baton

Apologies for the lack of updates recently, folks, as I've been in a persistent battle with our weekend guerrilla team, who managed to whittle me down and is now taking over full control of the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup. I made a deal that would keep the McElroy Empire out of here forever ... but then they altered the deal. I can only pray they don't alter it further.

I've been given the opportunity to make a final statement, which I intend to do so with bullet points:

And so it was on that day that the last of the legendary weekday warriors surrendered to the unstoppable power of the Griffin. Valiant but futile, they retreated forever back to their home, leaving the Griffin to reign over the weekend unchecked

Digital Unrest wins with the most lulz. Brawl in the Family was good, but it's been done before. Dueling Analogues loses hard for some sort of sense of Square Enix loyalty. There was a world before PlayStation, you know, and Nintendo was king back then too...

They didn't even post the right Brawl in the Family.

Typically, it blows me away that anyone finds any of these funny ever. They usually seem absurdly stupid and uncreative.

However Penny Arcade and Sidescroller were great this week.

How can you say that it blows you away that ANYONE EVER finds ANY of these funny and that two of them were great in the same post?

Eh, yeah, you're right. Guess I just put it that way since I'm shocked that for how long I've been reading the wrapup something finally struck me as actually funny. Usually it seems to me when going through these we're just picking out the best of the garbage, which means it's still garbage.

Loved Ctrl+Alt+Del this week. You know that's TOTALLY what someone at Midway was thinking.

I could've sworn I've seen the CAD Crossover comic on WWW before...

Penny Arcade for the epic fail that is playstation Home. How much time and money did Sony spend on that thing again?

While I don't own a PS3 yet, I did read all the recent impressions of Home. Even ardent PS3 fans are dissapointed with it.

I mean what is fun about waiting to play browser type games, about typing, about creepy lifeless avatars, about being harassed, about watching pixelated laggy "Twilight" trailers.

Sure it's not final, but as they say in Star Wars: "I have a bad feeling about this."

Posting to point out that the accompanying news story for the PA comic might be funnier than the comic.

Donald, you are correct sir. Good write-up. I didn't quite follow their dig on Lair and Heavenly Sword tho.

They're planning on keeping it in beta forever, so what we have is "final" in it's at least 1.0. Oh, and pants are $.99, which just goes to show that Home is probably twice as bad as you think.

From now on, I intend to follow all statements about upcoming events with "Shortly thereafter, you will be raped."

I think it's going to do wonders for my teaching career.

As of this post, 26 people had voted for CAD. I think you all need to take a long, hard look at yourselves and figure out where your sense of humor, wit, skill, writing ability, artistic direction, ethics, morals, and standards have gone.
