Bethesda has released a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 that not only adds Trophies, but manages to fix a particularly irksome bug that caused the game to hiccup whenever you received a PSN Notification (i.e. "SnakeFan292 signed off"). Our Sony-centric friends at PS3 Fanboy have a list of Trophies for your perusal. Seeing as Operation Anchorage is destined for Xbox 360 and PC only, this is probably the only Fallout 3 download PS3 owners can expect to receive for some time.

Do you honestly believe that? Much like the GTA DLC, the Fallout 3 stuff will eventually show up on PS3. It's really just a matter of whether or not you like waiting.

@Alien Lord... So THAT'S why so many on my friends list have Netflix icons next to their avatars.... seriously, son. Someday you'll grow up, move out of the house, have a job and be able to afford more than the one console you got for selling your merit badges to fellow scouts. When that day comes, you'll realize you're a fucking idiot.
@Chainblast, don't count on it. Bethesda has all but stated "Fuck PS3" publicly. Maybe one day they'll realize our money is just as valid. Maybe they site lack of DLC sales on PS3 for reasoning but oh wait, we never got a chance for that.
It's sad too because unlike the Oblivion DLC, this looks good.

@Sheppy:
For real, I don't think Bethesda is in a position to bash DLC after their first impression.. Horse Armor.. really... and then those few idiotic ones they dumped on us before the good stuff finally came..
I must say I did enjoy Nights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.. but the other DLC wasn't worth it, and was somewhat of an insult.

Well the thing is that Matchmaking makes everything harder than it should be since you can never get good at anything if you keep playing different maps and different games.
For example every game where LOG chooses your vehicle is pretty much hell because all its vehicles are friggin hard to use then add the fact you are playing random modes.
The times you can choose your vehicle well unless you have completed the game prepare for a mayor ass whuppin because it seems Rare didn’t ban any of those pesky Auto Lock weapons although I found a weapon that can take care of that but sadly you need to be very friggin close.
Races well you need to practice like a lot, some circuits are harder than anything I have seen in Mario Kart, specially the Log Box 720 circuit.
On the upside my connection sucks but the game plays smoothly online, there is no lag whatsoever so far. Team Vehicle battles are pretty rad.
(On the downside this is still xbaucks so people can be total d*ckheads from time to time)

It's a new feature, and when it was first created Devs didn't have the tools for it, so now some are going back and adding trophies.

Developers have a schedule keep in their development cycle. If the Trophy was in the SDK early on, they can plan the trophy integration into the development process. So these games that started development awhile back needs to have it patched in. Not all of them do it because there is some work involved with coding and going through the approval process, but I think its a nice way of instilling life into some older games.

Sony isn't requiring it as part of their "make a game on our system" contract until Jan '09. Next year every single game will have to ship with trophies.
Oh and it was a late-breaking feature that games like Uncharted which are 2 years old trivially patched in shortly after the firmware was released.

if you have a pc that can play this you bought it for that. if you have a 360 and ps3 you bought it for the 360. for those with only a ps3 this is great news.

It's amazing to see a company actually patch in trophies correctly. Most publishers ruin their game with the trophy patch. I wasn't about to, but I didn't have to start a new game to get trophies.
I also bet you can use backup saves if you have to replace the machine or want to replace the hard drive.
With GTA4 and Burnout, once you have to replace the machine or hdd, the data (whether from the backup utility or just copied on a flash drive) is rendered useless.
As for the DLC, I'm not too worried. When it came to Oblivion, we got all the DLC that was worth anything.

Not only that but the PS3 got the Knights of the Round quest thrown in for free. That was DLC on the 360.
