Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars coming March 17
We know it's hard to think about any other holiday with the holidays just around the corner, but there's a big new reason to look forward to St. Patrick's Day. Next year you'll spend March 17 ditching the green beer and big crowds at your local pseudo-Irish pub and snuggling in with Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Our friends in Europe will able to pick the game up three days later on March 20.... Hey, why are you crying? Oh! Well, we were just kidding about the green beer, pumpkin, of course you'll have time for both! Punish your thumbs, then punish your liver, that's what we always say.

We realise it is just Americans trying to get a cultural identity by pretending they have millenia of history.

When I went to Ireland when I was a kid (when it was still a pretty poor, miserable place) St. Patrick's day was actually a pretty serious, quiet religious holiday with a nice dinner and candles and all that kind of stuff like Thanksgiving or something... When I went over in '05 it was a big commercialized parade just like NY or Chitown, but my relatives in Monaghan I think the place was called still had a nice dinner and quiet little day off. I think the cornbeef and cabbage thing is a strictly Irish-American thing, too.

Punishing your liver at the same time as punishing your thumbs is more fun.

Smurf, what are you talking about?
As an Irish person, I take no offense to what was said, nor should I. Loads of places have ripped on the Irish and alcohol...

Hey, that's my birthday.....If I actually cared about this game in the least, I'd be really excited!

I didn't envision getting this game (or a DS) when it was announced, but since reading the previews for Chinatown Wars I'm pretty excited. Looks like R* is working hard to bring a legit GTA game to the DS, and they've delivered the goods pretty consistently up to this point.
I realize everyone has "their thing", and mine seems to be GTA. I look forward to immersing myself in the saga of the Chinese and Korean gangs in LC come March.

I'm pretty hyped about the game and I never played a GTA before :) It looks like they're putting a good deal of effort into it, despite being 'only' a portable game. Hopefully it will pay off.
