We Love Katamari was a really under-rated and underselling game on the PSP, I'm feeling the tilt controls though. Reminds me of Kirby's Tilt and Roll on the Gameboy Color.

Very under rated... Just look at the top left corner of that screen shot. SIX cm, NINE mm...

The iPhone a handheld gaming unit? My old school b/w gameboy that was the size of a brick has more appealing graphics.

The point still stands, as far as I'm concerned.

The game looks more N64 than Dreamcast quality. Adding to the fact that the textures only have to fill a screen less than four inches large on simple polygons I question the true "Power" of this "Gaming Console". Or at least developers' intent on using said power.

I'm sure it's quite capable; it just seems that the Apple hype machine is speeding ahead of itself once again.

Holy shit, sold!

That Noby Noby Whateverthefuck post got me thinking about the right and wrong platforms for Katamari and I was thinking that Wii, DS, and iPhone would be perfect matches for this franchise. Looks like someone somewhere finally figured 1/3 of that out.

Does it come with DLC that is in the application, but has to be paid for to unlock?

There's a version for Verizon phones called "Rolling with Katamari".

Its not too bad all things considered. 6.99 for unlimited use, and has free downloadable content.

Its more of a top down view of the game but pretty enjoyable if not a little bit repetitive. Great for poop breaks however. Generally you get about 5 minutes to get to a certain size. There is no "free play" feature that I've seen yet, having beaten about 9 levels so far.

I don't understand why they couldn't just stick with the dual-joystick controls. Sure, there's no joystick, but a thumb in each of the lower two corners of the screen would've been perfect...

Seems perfect for the iPhone.

I LOVE the Katamari series. That said...

This game is TERRIBLE. As you get bigger, the iPhone slows to a crawl. I can barely move at all. Also, the slower you go, the more forward you have to tilt the damn thing. I end up looking like a moron with my head upside-down looking at the screen leaning back and forth trying to keep the thing in view.

I'm upset that I've spent money on this, and my neck hurts.

I just wanted to report back and give a mini-review, since so many of the comments here are simply based on hearing about the game, and how it's on the iPhone.

Just played two levels. It's totally Katamari. The tilt 'n' touch controls are very easy and logical, the in-game and menu songs from the first game are all here, it's totally fine. The king and all of his passive-aggressiveness is here. Weird objects to pick up, and their descriptions, all here. There is some strange slow-down as you hit the three or four points in each level where your katamari is large enough to pick up larger objects, and they utilize a fade transition just like the console versions, but that ends and you're back in action - despite one person above saying the phone 'slows to a crawl,' I found that only to happen during the fade transition, but otherwise the gameplay is pretty smooth, more than fine. I forgot how great the sound and music was for this game - the graphics are acceptable for Katamari, much better than that single image when in motion.

Overall, very impressive. Even more so because it's on a phone. Namco went full-tilt (har) on this and it's a good game for the platform. Even haters might be impressed.
