Rumor: PlayStation Home hacked

Less than a week after Home's official unveiling, a hacker by the name of StreetskaterFU claims to have totally hacked into Sony's Home servers and is providing instructions on how to do it yourself – downloading, uploading, and deleting files. Want to see Mr. FU's purported hack in action? (Hacktion?) A poster on the PS3hax forums claims to have used the aforementioned method to change the posters and trailers in the Home theater (at least what he's seeing locally). The fact that we're not seeing widespread mischief in the Land of Home is preventing us from believing this one hook, line, and sinker.

I said just about anything I needed to here in my last comment save for this:

We all know that ragging on the PS3 or Sony for anything you can come up with (durr hurr no gaems, 600 dollurs) is the fast track to hearts from 360 fanboys, but at least wait until the official release to call it a failure. Then, if it's shit, I'll be with you saying so. At least wait until it's actually released and fails to provide the social service it's supposed to.

Yeah, it appears most people don't get the point, but given the audience I'm not sure that's suprising. It's meant to be a social experience and unless you enter Home intending to engage and talk with people you're going to get bored. Unfortunately, gamers tend to be rather anti-social as a whole.

I've had some decent conversations with people in Home prior to the Open Beta. I'll probably let it lie until things calm down, but as a 3D chat room, it works. I'm just waiting for more game launching integration before I call it useful as well.

Half the 360's selling point is the ease in which it creates a social gameplay experience...
