Spike VGA Trailersplosion: Kratos, Drake, Watchmen, Brutal Legend & Dante's Inferno

So you missed the Spike VGAs. You didn't miss much. Only the first footage of Uncharted 2, God of War III, Brutal Legend, Watchmen and Dante's Inferno (from the team behind Dead Space, don'tcha know). We've got your back, though. After the break you can watch all of the trailers from the show without having to sit through any of that boring "awards" stuff (GTA IV for GOTY? Really?)

We're having trouble deciding which of these trailers is our favorite. Realistically it's probably Uncharted 2, because we love us some Nathan Drake. Then again, we have demon nuns, Kratos wielding massive gloves, Rorschach beating up bad guys and another interesting looking new IP from the Dead Space team. What's there not to like? 2009's looking great.

GTA4, you must be kidding.. you're kidding right?

Morons. I didn't even purchase GTA IV, same old, same old 'cept with LESS features.

They have to be politically correct, so GTA4 is the safe choice, since it's a multiplatform game. Actually, all the choices they made were pretty safe, which kinda made the awards dull. But meh.

Another thing I found in the slow motion of it.

You know how that thing came out telling us that a price cut would be in March?

It said Kratos would grab a bird and kill it when he needs off of it...

So far.. it said that Sony would annouce the PS3 outselling all PAL countries - guess what? They did.

It said it was shown Uncharted 2... Well, guess what? We saw it.

It said there was a GOW3 thing - guess what? We saw it.

But, Uncharted 2 trailer was different than the one shown to the people who released the info...

The GOW3 trailer was also changed - but going in slow motion still shows Kratos grabbing it, and killing it when getting off of it. The only thing is - he grabs it - it shows a bunch of things where Kratos is fighting - then he kills it, jumps off and the screen goes black.

which is exactly why MGS4 got best graphics and not GOW2!

But yeh, GTA4... GOTY? you gotta be kidding me! Hype of the year maybe! But it kinda proves that they got a panel of GTA4 fanboys to vote for GOTY, there is NO WAY GTA4 was the best of the best this year! There have been a ton of games that didnt get a nomination that deserve it more..

The Uncharted 2 trailer was pure win.

GOW = wow
Uncharted = wow
Dante's Inferno = meh, could go either way
Brutal Legend = meh, could go either way
Watchmen = the warriors clone? damn :/

Loved the first Uncharted, and from the looks of it I'll love the second.

Dantes Inferno; i can't wait to see what religious nut-jobs make of that one!

Also, MGS4 should have been GOTY, GTA4 was pretty average when you really think about it. I don't think R* will ever recreate the magic of Vice City.

I don't think MGS4 should have won best score and there are certainly better nominations for GOTY... deserving best graphics, perhaps.

When you think about it, if MGS4 got the best score (which isnt supprising) then surely that mean it should get GOTY, both awards should go hand in hand to the same game. and there is no way GTA4 will get best graphics, they arnt that amazing, MGS4 deserved it, but tbh with you i was stunned by resistance 2's that is a fantastic game!

best score means musical score, buddy

I don't know, MGS4 had a pretty sweet instrumental score -- for what it's worth, anyway.

Dante's Inferno gives me bad vibes because The Divine Comedy is such a... ugh. Dante's always sucking up on everyone and reading through three books of that IS the tenth circle of Hell.

Or it's a new potentially best-selling game.

I really "enjoy" TDC. It's very interesting. Not when you read it in school, but when you read it many years later, maybe you'll appreciate it.

The game looks shite, though.

Well right now I'm just waiting for KZ2 to win every award next year, don't act surprised when it happens. It might just win some awards in XB360 categories because it will most definitely shit on any game they have coming out next year. Halo Wars what?

dante's inferno looks to be a promising game.
dont know what to make of watchmen.

I just finished watching the awards from TiVo and to be honest, I wasn't impressed. Having Fallout 3 win RPG when there are many other titles like Fable 2, Valkyria Chronicles, and not to mention Persona 4 which got higher reviews than most other titles.

The GoWIII trailer left much to be desired since what we saw looked like a CGI clip saying "Hi, go look and see what there is." It doesnt really show off much of anything and it looked very early in stage.

Dante's again...doesn't show anything of the game other than a demon with a cross. Doesn't do anything for me.

Brutal looks fun and funny but Again, still not sure now after thinking back on it.

I dunno, looks rather dull in the end. I usually avoid VGA's because it's a popularity contest.

The GOW3 Trailer was game play footage. You making the mistake that it is all CGI shows how good the game will be

The reason I thought it was CGI was because of the face of Kratos. I don't expect everything to be shown to be CGI. Just in that instance. Either way, CGI or not, it wasn't all that impressive.

I was expecting to be WOWed by the God of War 3 trailer but ehh not really im pretty sure the game is going to be good but that trailer didnt do justice for me. Also i was reading that trailer that was shown wasnt the trailer that jaffe was excited about so im looking forward to see which trailer was that

Why did they make a special release last night of the God of War III teaser to the PlayStation Network but nothing else? Especially since they promoted the Uncharted 2 trailer for the night with an email? Don't get me wrong, it was a nice trailer, but I just don't get why only the one and why they couldn't have added a few at least. Crossing my fingers for HD versions of Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend trailers this Thursday.

GOW3= look great but i wanna see the trailer jaffe was talking about but look good for an old build

If the GoW3 game improves from build to build like Chains of Olympus did.. it could be very impressive..

Does the fact that Gow3 has an 10/09 release date, and Uncharted2 doesnt have a release date mean that Uncharted is further away? :(

the GOWIII video didn't look at all different from the earlier game...

I think this goes to show if a publisher focuses on one platform, the games for the most part will be better. The God of War III and Uncharted trailers look good, the others look like a continuation of the same old games we've seen over and over again.

I believe the dual platform development is going to show how limited the 360 really is, cause other than Gears of War II, non of them are looking impressive anymore.

Kratos makes me giggle like a school girl.

And everyone, I suspect that God of War III trailer was gameplay, which would be really impressive!!! The first scene looked like a part of the game and so did the scene where he tosses off all those skeletons.

I have replaying the first Uncharted since I saw that trailer..Bring on the sequel!!

GOW3 looks amazing...Can't wait for that.

How did GTAIV win GOTY??

I'm guessing that for generic awards shows like Spike's VGAs, multiplats will always get GOTY over exclusives. That way all the advertisers are happy.

Maybe just me but i thought GOW3, Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend was great. GOW3 for that first "boss fight"-scene. Gameplay footage and im sold. F*cking awesome!

Uncharted 2 looks to be amazing. They've kept the same humoristic feel to it. Im in love. That trailer made me blow my load! Pardon my french.

Brutal Legend was just soo funny. It might not compete for the GOTY whenever it releases, but its a must have game if you like the humor of Jack Black. Kick ass!

I was expecting to be wowed by the GoW3 trailer, but Uncharted stole the thunder. The graphics were absolutely amazing for in game engine. I want to see the trailer Jaffe was so impressed by, the one that "looked like a painting come to life". As it stands both games will be must haves. The awards were shit though, Fallout 3 best RPG and GTA had no right even being nominated for game of the year. Should have went to MGS4 or Gears 2 in my opinion.

to tell you the truth godofwar 3 looked like shit i thought it was gonna have good graphics but i camed out all faded out!!!
i thought it was gonna have the graphics of the cgi trailer but even uncharted and gears 2 look way better
i am really dissapointed
