F.E.A.R. 2 'unbanned' in Australia

Upon review, the classification board deemed that the violence in the game could be "accommodated within the MA15+ classification." Of course, none of these semi-regular banning stories would be happening if games in Australia had the option of an R18+ rating.

Does anybody really care anymore? They had a proposal for 18+ games which would make everyone's life easier, but they shelved that. Every month there are one or two stories of Australia banning some game. Aren't you tired of writing what amounts to the same story every mohth?
I mean, Australia is not only weird, but it's a dinosaur by today's standards. The bandwidth caps ar so low that you can't stream or even play Xbox Live for long. I'm glad I don't live in Australia and I'm never gonna visit it.

Wow, no. Of course people still care, because nothing has been changed yet. Why would we stop caring that one of our members of parliament is a douchebag who doesn't understand video games aren't only for children and is refusing to change the laws around them.
And yes our internet is pretty shitty, but you can stream fine and play Live or any other internet gaming service for any amount of time you want with most plans.

im from australia, and im on 8mbit internet with an unlimited cap for $100 a month. which is like US$60 i guess. and were not weird mate.

Thats a real shame. Not only do we have all the same technologies and infrastructure as the US, but we have 1/4 of the crime, 1/10th the homeless rate, we've avoided the recession so far, our government gives out free money to anyone unemployed and parents (with $5000 free bonuses when a child is born) and generous rebates for solar power and water-saving devices. All i ever hear about is people visiting Australia and moving here. Our Tax systems and Free Health systems are some of the best in the world and our weather and women are gorgeous. I'm not sure what you mean about bandwidth caps or whatever, but i know i can stream anything online and play online games anytime i want for as long as i want. Maybe it's your knowledge of Australia thats a 'dinosaur'.

Lol, nice Moptimus. I work for a local electrical store delivering white and brown goods, including TVs etc and the people i meet love the country. Just this month i've met about 8 families just in my local area, 6 from the UK and 2 from the US, and they can't believe their luck moving here. Our cars, weather, women, buildings, infrastructure, everything in our country is not only amazingly beautiful and modern, but also very up-to-date with the rest of the world. Our Internets are a little lagging with the rest of the world, but we still get up to 24mbit connections in most places.

Wow the amount of ignorance displayed by SOME Americans is astounding. I am sick and tired of reading some douchebag's comments about a country he knows little about. I can't blame you though, with the shit the media feeds you about Australia being filled with what you believe in the USA to be byproducts of a convict mill. I don't go around claiming that the US health and education systems are dinosaurs. Please, afford the same respect to us Aussies.

Is that true doctor about the convict mill lmao. I actually have never met anyone who has descendants dating back to the convicts. I think it's now less than 2% of all aussies are related to the convicts. We're the most tolerant and multi-cultural society that i can think of, with very little racism.

Nope. Project O.R.I.G.I.N. was the name when they didn't have the rights to the F.E.A.R. name.

The real story: Warner threatened to block the DVD and BluRay releases of The Dark Knight, thus throwing Australia into anarchy, starring Mel Gibson, should F.E.A.R. 2 not be allowed a release. Fearing a Thunderdrome scenario was imminent, the OFLC allowed it to be classified even though they refused to make everyone's lives easier by removing the periods from between each word in the title so we didn't have to type it out each time.
Smart move.
