Today’s Country actually does Rock. I just saw Kidd Rock and Def Leopard on Country Music TV doin’ some Country. Brad Paisley is truly a master. And Captain Kirk (William Shatner is in a couple of Brad Paisley videos) Jason Alexander from Seinfeld too. This would be because Country today is not the “Wife left, dog got ran over…” stereotype. Its fun a makes you glad to be alive, . Some of the sexiest women out there are singing country… It’s great Harmonix took the time out and listened to their fans and found Country that really does jam/rock and is fitting. Have faith in Harmonix and get past the old country stereotype. Country is as American as you get… And for the record, the Dixie Chicks said only this to a British audience “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.” The war they where refering to is the war in Iraq.

Two things:

1. Anyone still using this ridiculous line from that terrible Dodgeball movie needs to be banned. From life.

2. Don't like the music? Don't download it. I can't stand country music, but I think it's great they're trying to offer a wide variety music to appeal to a large market.

This is gonna turn into yet another bitch thread. Call the wahbulance, Harmonix isn't releasing music you like.

Guess what? I passed on Nirvana and the Pixies. I didn't go on and on that that the music choices sucked, or that it wasn't "music."

Don't like it? Don't download it.

Not my cup of tea, so I don't download, and I move on with life.

They feel a need for their own awards shows, let them have their own game. Would it be ok to put in Broadway musicals now too? No, it doesn't fit.

Nirvana not "music"? Did you really just say that?
Anyways if you don't like Nirvana that's your problem, although the game is called "Rock Band" and not "Rape-A-Deer-And-Sing-About-It-While-You're-Drunk Band".
So I think Nirvana is more fitting to the concept of Rock Band then this drunk redneck crap.

Ummmm, Country has outsold Rap in 2007, 2006 and 2005 (according to Nielsen Soundscan). Country still places behind Rock (king of the heap), R&B, and Alternative. Rap places behind Country and Metal, just ahead of Gospel/Christian, though if current trends continue it will drop behind Gospel/Christian in 2008.

Makes great business sense. As I recall Country & Western is a growth genre with massive record sales and a growing fanbase.

I do find it interesting the Country & Western fans seem to exhibit less bigotry towards Rock & Roll than Rock & Roll fans exhibit towards one of the progenitor genres of Rock & Roll itself.

I'm not much on this particular country pack, but I do think that some country songs would be fun on RB2.

Harmonix should put together a DLC of Dixie Chicks songs. They have more than a few songs that are quick and 'rockin'... There are many other deserving country artists as well, although I'm personally not a huge country music fan.
