The Daily Telegraph has thrown two pence in with its own "best of" video game round up, naming its top 50 games of 2008. Like X-Play before it, the conservative UK newspaper named Lionhead's Fable 2 as the best game to come along in the last 12 months, romancing the crown out from under near-winners, Fallout 3 and LittleBigPlanet.
Other games sitting atop the heap included Rock Band 2, Gears of War 2, Spore, Grand Theft Auto IV and No More Heroes, with Left 4 Dead and Professor Layton rounding the publication's top ten. Check out the rather comprehensive list and let us know if your favorites made the cut.

Did Zack & Wiki come out in 2008 in the UK? Man, if so, that's sad. It was released in October '07 in the U.S. Kind of disappointed to see Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts not on the list anywhere. As far as I'm concerned, Rare is set to wrap up another "Best Game No-one Played" award.

Sadly haven't got a chance to play Fable 2, though I loved the first one (for those short hours it took to win it). But that's not the topic of my comment...
Why does everyone love Fallout 3 so much? What am I missing when playing it? I've loved The Elder Scrolls games, but I hated Fallout 3 when I played it. Gave it a couple hours and I'm just bored tearless. I always end up finding creative ways to kill myself for 20 minutes before I decide to give it up. Maybe I just miss playing my mage archetypes from ES.
I really really want to like this game, is there some quest or thing I should be doing that would all the sudden make this game awesome?

That's a shame. But I'm glad a truly great game like No More Heroes is mentioned. These fellas need to play Lost Odyssey or Tales of Vesperia. Now THAT'S a 360 RPG.
Like most people have said, Fable II is pretty good, but definitely not that good.

Im sorry but metal gear solid 4 is the best .gta 4 was boring and thats why saints row 2 was huge because they made the game feel like a game and less real. so g4tv x-play and the vga can kiss my ass

I played Fable 2 all the way though and a long way though Fallout 3 (Finishing as many side quests as I can). While I agree Fallout 3 of a tour de force and no mistake. I grinned from ear to ear playing though Fable 2 and had a right good time to boot. If you want to vote a games quality by how much fun it delivers, Fable 2 gets my vote.
So there.
So there.
