Thank God for Sega, because lord knows Nintendo, despite having like SIX games they could release in Q1 for the Wii, isn't releasing shit.

Also, Kororinpa 2=YAY!

Seriously, apart from Sega, things look pretty grim. Except for "Deer Drive." I've been waiting to shoot deer in the lungs whilst standing on my head. I'm kidding of course.

... kidding about wanting to do that, not about BEING ABLE to do that. Check out the trailer, it's nuts.

No joke. Sega is the only one on that list I care about.

Where are the AAA titles from Nintendo!?

What AAA titles, though? Punch-Out!! doesn't even have a name yet, and Sin & Punishment is a ways away even in Japan. They could have dredged up the Japanese titles that they've been pushing out of North America for so long, but that would have been the best they could have done

From Madworld to DDR and everything in between, march will be an interesting month to follow the Wii games sales.

... if you manage to find time between plays

No Swords & Soldiers? It's pretty much the only confirmed Wii title I'm anticipating at this point.

The last Wii game that I went to a store and bought (not virtual console or Wii ware) was Wii Fit, and that was on the day it came out. How sad is that?
I'm getting Guitar Hero: World Tour for Christmas, Tatsunoko VS Capcom for my birthday in January, and then Onechanbara in February. Seven days later House of the Dead: Overkill AND Street Fighter IV (on X-box 360) come out. On the same effin' day. Jeez, thanks guys. After that, in March I'm getting Mad World. This is going to be nuts.
My biggest question is this: Why is Sega running such strict competition with itself? In a matter of two months they're releasing three games, all of which are aimed at a mature audience. It's not even like they're shooting for different niches or anything. If you ask me, they should have spaced these things out a little. Even one per month would have been better than this madness.
Also, if it weren't for the spend-all-of-my-money insanity that starts up in February, I'd probably get Pikmin. I never got the original (and yet my cat is named Olimar, go figure!).

Wow...I'm stunned. Nintendo has no original title in Q1?
I would think Disaster would have been a HUGE upgrade. I was hoping that the 'spring' release of Wii Sports Resort would plunk it down in Q1, but I guess it will get pushed back...and back...and back...

I love my Wii, but it's clear that developers aren't giving it much love in Q1 (Sega being the lone exception).

Swords & Soldiers is WiiWare btw, so it wouldn't be on thist list. Cave Story is another WiiWare title to watch for...in fact WiiWare has two good looking games coming out next week too...Maybe WiiWare is the hope of the Wii for Q1?

Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball? SOLD by the title alone. This will surely add more to the age-old debate.

Wow. Nintendo basically isn't releasing anything in the first quarter. Like at all. Two ports where they reworked the controls. Which is rather easy, they just have to map the game to a different control scheme, could easily be done within a week at most... pathetic. I mean, at least DKJB will have some new levels... this has nothing new. So sad.

They really need to get their act together. They're trying to rely on third party too much now and most of it is shovelware. Sega is the only one that has decent stuff coming out.

I fully expect Nintendo will reveal a new console either sometime this year or no later than next year; they've exhausted their usual staples (Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, etc.) on the Wii, so despite its always brisk hardware sales things WILL hit a wall soon, and hard. There's not a game on that list I would consider buying. The market of new and casual gamers Nintendo currently insists on courting will soon grow saturated, and they'll start looking for the next big novelty, Nintendo-made or not. Meanwhile, the longtime fans who've suppoorted the Big "N" for decades are beginning to look over at Sony and even Microsoft and see greener pastures, as for months now there's been a dearth of quality first-party Nintendo games for the Wii, not to mention the mountain of shovelware the third parties provide. Whatever happened to the days when the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" actually meant something? Yes, I guess Nintendo will try at least one more console given the Wii's success, but without MUCH better third-party support and a more developer-friendly control scheme fans can expect pretty much more of the same disappointment as well as further dismissal of the hardcore fan base on Nintendo's part.

I agree that the list sucks. There's no way that they'll announce a new console within the next three or four years though. I say this because of the way that the Wii is currently selling. It's on track to become the best selling console of all time as it is outpacing the PS2. If Nintendo has any business sense whatsoever they will continue selling the standard Wii at $250 until sales start to drop quite a bit from their current levels. Perhaps we'll see them include Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort but I honestly don't think that they will announce a new console for a long time to come.

You say that all of their franchises have been used up already but that's not really true. First of all, we have yet to see Star Fox, Wave Race, F-Zero, Pilotwings, a true Wii Zelda, Kid Icarus, Yoshi's Island, Excitebike, Kirby, Duck Hunt, etc. Besides that, they could always make sequels to the games that have already been released.

That being said, I miss the glory days of looking forward to the likes of Galaxy, Zelda, Smash Bros., Kart, and Metroid.

Is the explosion meant to represent my mind? Because thats how it feels, the Wii is epic fail, I've been sitting here waiting for a good game to come out for ever! Why the fuck do all my Gamecube games look better than all the Wii games coming out?

Everyone likes to talk about gameplay, but truth be told, most of the games that come out have shit gameplay and shit graphics. Apparently Nintendo agrees (well Reggie does) and they haven't done anything about it. I was very excited at the prospect of lightsaber games and first person shooters, online gaming and an epic Zelda and am yet to have any of that. Best bet, new console please.

Fuck!!!! I'm so fucking angry, time to get a 360.

Despite this article's title, that list is NOT the complete Q1 lineup. Several of capcom's games are confirmed for Q1, and they were a tad upset that they received no mention on said list.

You may not personally like everything that is on that "partial" list, but to say that there's nothing good on there is just ridiculous. There is PLENTY to look forward to on the list as it is (even though it makes me a very, very sad Wii owner/player not to see The Conduit in Sega's line-up). Onechambra looks to be shaping up pretty good. I've been interested in SimAnimals for a while, actually, to see how it will really play out. Pikmin and Mario Tennis are a couple I certainly want to pick up. Fishing Master can be a lot of fun, and Kororinpa is too. As a fan of the original Parapa, I'm definitely interested in seeing how Major Minor turned out, what with the original Parapa crew back together to make that one. Little King's Story is a must buy for me, and Rune Factory looks good as well. All of Sega's published games look drool-worthy (well, maybe not Sonic, but I'm looking forward to it just the same). Tenchu sounds like a lot of fun from previews so far, and I want Broken Sword as well (still love point and click adventures, and I'm thankful they are making a come-back on the Wii!!). That's a LOT of games I'm interested in...on just one console...over only a couple of months! And then there are the months after that with things like Conduit and Deadly Creatures following close behind. Not to mention Wii-ware coming out too. If you don't like the Wii, then fine...but to say that there's nothing coming out for it is just ludicrous.
