NXE Avatars receive new formal wear

Like most foppish gamers, we've been politely castigating Microsoft for the improvident dearth of formal Avatar clothing -- so much so that we're inclined to use the words "castigating" and "improvident" in a single sentence. How are we meant to enjoy the NXE when our on-screen representation fails to capture our posh, everyday attire? To think, there are brutish button mashers who venture online wearing naught but jeans and a body rag! To that we say, "Hmph! And good day!"

Thankfully, Microsoft has now recognized the erudite e-citizens of Xbox Live, releasing a new set of Avatar clothes:

Gentlemen

Blue Tuxedo
Black Tuxedo
Shirt with Cummerbund
Black Trilby
Bowler Hat

Noble Women

Elegant Ball Gown
Little Black Dress
Formal Trouser Suit
Elegant Watch
Red '60s Shades
Strappy High Heels
Platform Shoes

You'll find them in the Avatar Customization menu, most likely next to some uncultured "threads."

I wish they'd release a set of clothing that would accurately represent what I look like while playing games...

White socks and off-white (read: slightly stained) underwear.

Dude it would be to hard on the girls (and I guess us guys) to see that when playing with you online.

All the girls are playing Uno or Puzzle Quest. I have integrity, God dammit. I will NOT sacrifice my gaming freedom for second-rate virtual pussy.

When will I get the ability to not use an avatar? I liked just having a handle and gamerpic.

You'd think it would be easy for MS to allow you to not use something you don't want to. I just want to play games and watch DVDs. Maybe I'm bitter and old, but it seems to me like these avatars/Miis/PSHome things are a waste of time. I just want some fun games that don't feel like a second job/life.

Nael - True I do, but when I view my friends list I see their avatars. So I assume that when they are checking out what I'm up to they see my avatar and not my gamerpic.

Finally! At last there are some clothes for my NXE avatar that actually represent my daily attire.

I'm always in a suit, so I am confused why they don't offer normal looking ones for us suit wearers. A tux is a but much and then we have the white pimpish one or the ugly brown one. Weird options. What about a simple black suit people!?

Hehe, I got a laugh at that, Duke. There's just something inherently funny about a guy sitting around playing games while wearing a formal suit.

You know, ya come home from court and grab a beer, some chips and jump into a game. :P

Actually, come to think of it, I'm closer to being able to make a Barnabas Collins avatar. All I need is a less formal suit and a cane.

Is this post really necessary? Who the hell cares about NXE avatars getting new clothes. It's not like we get posts every time Home adds some new clothes.

Perhaps because the new content is meaningful and at least serves some purpose.. (I'm happy we now have a plain black trilby hat).

While not even the most extreme PS3 fanboys give a damn about Home.

You can have a monocle in NXE, but not a top hat. What a waste of time.

here is what I think, I think this is realy very interesting but i would like to add some thing to this as I see there is a relation ship between this and what I'm going to share with you. It's a website that I've found lately that is specialized at formal wears only and I think this website : http://formal-wear.org goes hand in hand with this one, I hope you enjoy it.
