The new Prince of Persia is Amazon's Deal of the Day, retailing at a $40 price that we could climb a wall and flip backwards over. The fine frugal folks at CheapAssGamer noticed the deal, which as the name implies, is only available today.
Amazon also shows no favoritism, as the $40 price applies to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the "magical" adventure.

Yep that's totally why games like Guitar Hero World Hero and Gears of War 2 are dropping at an affordable price.
Oh wait.

its amazon.com
they have no stores and salespeople.
they have large warehouses that allow them to purchase more of these games than most retailers.
they can sell anything for much less than any retail store for many reasons.
and + this is the amazon 15 days of game deals, and game deals of the day.
this is happening everyday on amazon.com
i got heavenly sword for $ 20, the last remnant for $ 30.

At $40 there is really no reason why you shouldn't buy this game.

Sadly not a good reason since this prince of persia is nothing like the other ones.

In all honesty this game is worth a rent. I rented it and beat in about 10 hours spread over a 3 day period. And sure, you can't die but that doesn't mean the game isn't fun. In my opinion, if you have the time to play games, then gamefly is the way to go. The only way I would buy a game nowadays is if all my friends are gonna play it online with me, or if I'm a fanboy of that game.

Yeah, it can be rented. But I feel my $60 was well spent towards helping the developers with the sequel. I know they don't have a charity fund or whatever, but a purchase to me is justified if it helps boost sales of the title.

I always thought the 'the game sucks because you can't die' argument was a bit silly.
If you fail a platforming section, where you would have died, Eleka takes you back to the start of it, right?
That's not invincibility, that's a cleverly disguised checkpoint system.

Its not even THAT cleverly disguised... but somehow it seems to have fooled the internets.

I did the same. It felt extra sweet considering last year this time it was also the deal of the day, but before I could reach the checkout the twisted black Pheonix that is Amazon rose from asunder and ripped it from my cart with its poison-dipped talons whisking, nay soaring it back from whence it came. Whilst I stood there, jaw-dropped and stunned, it was replaced with the old asking price and a small, singed layer of parchment that read "No more available at this price".
That day I vowed to never purchased said discs for more than 30$. Yesterday, I followed through with my promise. Horrid Phoenix be damned. I no longer have to lie awake at night, morning star by my side. I am a free man.

I bought at full price (well not full price when you include my BB discount) but still worth every penny.
My only problem with the game is that I feel like there's so much dialogue. Like Ubisoft put in a million different things for the Prince to ask Elika and he never runs out of stuff to ask.
But other than that the game is amazing.

Really? The dialog is one of the game's best aspects IMO.

Lol I could't help myself. I wanted to enjoy the full experience and know every little detail about the world. However in the process it got very tedious and ultimately a lil frustrating.
It not a negative thing persay. Just something I thought could have been done a little better.

It just reeks of "you ARE playing with a 360 controller, right?" Don't get me wrong, it's still worth playing, but it doesn't seem there was a whole lot of thought put into it. Instructions that say "Press [coloured icon of some kind] NOW!" simply don't translate to a mouse/keyboard setup.
All said, I'm enjoying it anyway.

I actually beat this game in 3 days, the originals in 5 days. You can rent every game out there. Even renting an RPG for 2 weeks is cheaper than buying it.
What buying does is help the sales and developer. It gives devs incentive to make a sequel. Besides this game is like a work of art that some take pleasure in owning and sharing with their friends and family.

These games aren't "dropping" in price per se. Amazon always has fabulous specials on games, but they are in no way a "price drop", but a limites time offer. And this is why Amazon is the best place for everything.

Albeit obvious similarities to Shadow of Colossus that do hurt its originality and liberal use of QTE, I still greatly enjoyed it. Elika is great and I was surprised at how amused I was at the dialogue between her and the prince. I also thought that even though it didn't have the strongest plot, that this game had one of the most satisfying endings in videogames this year.
$40 is a good deal. I'd definitely recommend at least a rental.

I picked this game up and just could not get into it, not much variety in the whole thing and I just had to force myself to beat it which doesnt happen often
