To be truthful, the original article WAS jumping the gun. That same "power" icon is found on LOTS of electronic devices. The Wii remote has one on it, but it's red. But it's the same symbol. So just because it's green, that doesn't mean it meant Xbox 360. It would be AWESOME, but not necessarally true.

Hideo Kojima said he was going to reveal big news in a few weeks, a few hours later a magazine says MGS is coming to iPhone...

I'm having some doubt as I'm sure he wasn't going to announce some this lame.

I dont think the x360 has the storage capacity to carry something as complex as MGS. Bluray was the reason the game looked so good and so much built into it. I really dont want to buy a game with 12 dvds... Ill pass.

have you heard about data compression?
the games on ps3 do't have any, thats why they weight much more.... don't remember by the moment, but I heard that fable 2 weights something like 49 Gb uncompressed so.....

the dev team at Lionhead said that the compression techniques they use can compress a game to 1% of its original size - so Fable 2 (or any other well compressed game) to would be approx 700GB when uncompressed!

just check out one of the early Fable 2 dev diaries (maybe no.3) for confirmation.

Well, getting 12 times as much discs as the PS3 fanboys for the same price ... sounds like a damn good deal to me.

12 discs is an extreme exaggeration. 2 to 3 at the most and since its a single player game, people need to be extremely lazy to be put off by taking a mere second to get up and switch discs.

The biggest PS3 blu-ray discs are only 50gb and they are all uncompressed. It could certainly work on 360, thats never been in question, only PS3 fans think it wouldn't work because they seem to live in a world where more than 1 disc doesn't work.

Not that it matters of course, MGS4 will always be a PS3 exclusive. Its never coming to 360.

It was kind of obvious that it wasn't a 360 port of MGS4, although technically possible, as limited as the DVD9's are to 6.5gbs a disc (I haven't spotted a larger game). It's just not going to happen (unless Konami make Kojima go missing..).. I said when this popped up that it would be iPhone..
Xbox will have to wait for the next Metal Gear which could turn out to be an FPS (because he want's to make one)..
I, personally, only ever played the first MGS (a lot).. I'd happily buy it again for the Game Cube (= Wii).. if I could find it..

Who cares? I bought a ps3 with high hopes of mgs4, and it sucked. I fell asleep during many of the cut scenes, especially the ones in the nomad. Damn they were boring. I dont care if you all bash me, but it brought nothing new except a gay monkey and a weapon store where a little robot inexplicably brings you weapons instantly, and the CQC is still the worst of any game on the market right now. The graphics weren't that great either, but it did have amazing use of color. My ps3 continues to collect dust while my 360 is on every day. MGS4 is old gameplay, the story gets more retarded and convoluted every chapter, and the controls and combat are dated. There, I vented. I want my 400 dollars back!

Give it rest and stop being so bitter. I'm pretty sure nobody on here believes that you own a PS3 or even played MGS 4 so stop trying to rile everybody up. "Let's go back to bashing MGS4 now that we know it's not coming to the 360"!

I too call bs on this post as well. If you think cqc is lame, then you never successfully inserted an SOP in MGO team sneak which is a shame. When done correctly, it is the greatest moment in gaming for me at the moment. Good attempt at rationalizing your loss however.

If that's what you think, you probably weren't a Metal Gear fan to begin with. Yet you expect people to believe that you bought a PS3 FOR that game? Yeah, okay. Console fanboys are such douchebags.

If anything if you played the game you would be left with a lot of WTF??? Moments. Granted there were a lot of movies, the game was exceptional. The 360 community would have embrassed the game just as much as the PS3 community did.

Metal Gear not for the xbox crowd? Are you thick? The xbox console has no good games other than shooters, and MGS4 would destroy the competition if it came to the xbox. However, since it was designed from the ground up on PS3 and blue ray, you won't even see a 5 disc version of MGS4 on the xbox - it just can't be done

Are you being sarcastic? If not, you might want to read your post again and see how lame it sounds. The game isn't being ported to the iphone. How can the iphone handle the graphics and stuff? It's out of the question. They are creating a different version with the same story for the iphone. Which one would you want? The true MGS4 from the PS3 or a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very watered down version ported from the iphone?

mgsrocks1, i was saying mgs4 cannot be ported to xbox because the xbox cannot handle that full game. so, since the xbox blows, maybe it can handle the mgs lite version. port mgs from iphone to xbox LOL!! you totally got my comment wrong.

Still it was funny watching all the 360 retarded trailer trashing thinking otherwise, after that on switch logo that happens to appear on 90% on consumer electronics (including the PS3 and 360) appeared on the Konami site.

The next Splinter Cell can't come soon enough..

I'd say Splinter Cells (at least the older ones, I didn't play double agent) were a bit both: less epic in scope, less quirky, but also more technical, serious and realistic.

Call BS on me too - but I sure didn't buy my PS3 for MGS4, but waited until the 80GB version came without having to pay for it. Having played the demo now, I can say I want my bandwidth back and the 15 minutes spent humping the ground. While I like LBP, the PS3 is mainly a really good blu-ray player so far, with no exclusives besides LBP that really interest me. GT5P was a joke of an extended demo, RFOM I couldn't be bothered finishing, maybe next year will bring something to blow me away. But if not, at least I have a blu-ray player with great performance that will be updated throughout the console life cycle, rather than the few months of a standalone player. Really wish I could get a better controller though, finally bought a second DS3 after not being able to find a better alternative.

This is going to be a big deal w/ the iphones openGL, it will look amazing, and i'm sure Kojima will make the controls practical since they pretty much invented the 'wall press' in video games.

Here is an openGL game for the iphone back before the app store even exsisted. Just imagine how good it will look in 09.

efeez, i said I BOUGHT A PS3 WITH high hopes for mgs4. I didnt say: "I bought a ps3 just for MGS4." So you sir, can gobble some crotch gravy. And yes, I own both consoles. I bought Uncharted first which was pretty decent. I played the first Metal Gear, and still have the original NES Cart. I loved Solid on the ps1, and Played up until Snake eater, which I didn't ever pick up. I played 4, traded it in on dead space for 360. I am not a fanboy, but my 360 gets way more use than my shitstation 3. Its a good thing i enjoy blu-ray movies. To tell me that I didnt play it, or dont even own the console is just gay.. gay, gay, gay. MGO was okay at best. To say it was gay is my opinion, and you saying I want to rile anyone up is also uber ghey. Go back to watching clone wars in your mom's basement wittle boy.

Actually, MGS4 was heavily compressed. They had to work wonders to get it onto a single Blu-Ray disc.
