3D Realms unwraps new Duke Nukem Forever image

Perhaps worse than not getting the gift you've asked for is getting a raincheck for it. Although we appreciate the sentiment behind 3D Realms releasing a new image containing in-game creatures from Duke Nukem Forever, the fact that another holiday season has come (and almost gone) without the game actually being released can't be ignored.

Still, if you'd like to have a reminder of promises unfulfilled staring back at you every time you look at your monitor, the 3D Realms site has the image in all shapes and sizes. Us, we'll pass ... and celebrate the holidays the good old fashioned way.

I liked Prey, STALKER on the other hand sucked. Not only was it a buggy POS, it was a mediocre FPS crossed with a mediocre RPG. The end result was crap. I'll never understand why so many PC guys love that game.

Some savvy Texas oil tycoon should do the earth a favor, buy up all the assets, all the IP, all the staff, designers, temps, any PCs or CDs with any of the game in progress on it, and go all ET on it. Throw all of it (staff included) into a friggin' hole in the desert and bury it all.

I don't know why an oil tycoon would do that but it makes sense to me.

Before the oil tycoon buries all of 3d Realms in a hole, they should release the 2001 version of this game as is. Looks like a far better game then anything they've showed so far...

3d Realms said they've delayed this so it could be "the end all be all of games". Bad thing thing they forgot is that it doesn't take graphics to do that. Takes a good game. The 2001 Duke Nukem Forever looks like a good game.

Please Doom was the original gears of war.

But Gears put it on steroids and in fact almost reinvented the whole concept.

You guys need to stop with this Gears of War bullshit. There is absolutely nothing original about Gears so it's impossible for anybody to copy that game. Gears is just a combination of Resident Evil+Killswitch and the enemies from Gears look like updated versions of enemies from old PC shooters i've played.

It's too bad most of you are too young to remember the original 2D and 3D versions of this game franchise. :)
These creatures are all updated versions of the characters in Duke Nukem 3D. Which came out 12 years ago. Which probably inspired a lot of current game developers.
