That sounds ok,but I would prefer to have more quality PS classsics, such as Resident Evil, Final Fantasy or Legend of Dragoon *especially isnce the Playstation 3 barely has any notable RPG's)

Umm... Castlevania IS a classic.

Disgaea 3
Eternal Sonata
Valkeria Chornicles

and a whole host of great PS2 and PSP titles.

We'll be getting a lot more RPGs next year. The PS2 is still releasing RPGs and we won't get most of them until that system dies.

Plus the PSP is released tons of great ones. On top of that the last 2/3 of 360 RPGs released this year were rated below a 7 on the Metacritic average...

The 3 above were much higher reviewed. Even though Valkeria Chronicles isn't quite a JRPG under normal standards and even though Eternal Sonata was 360 port the game has a lot of extra content that the 360 didn't have.

You could always try Penny Arcade. Seriously though no one should have bought a PS3 for RPGs unless you're like me and a HUGE Disgaea fan (which I wish every PS3 owner was) You have a PS2 for RPGs you get a PS3 for better action, adventure, and shooters. Cause face it, RPGs don't usually push hardware that bad.

So a jump to PS3 for RPGs is either for major graphical improvements (stuff like Eternal Sonata wouldn't have worked well on PS2), or new processing capabilities (Disgaea 3 with 100 floor levels and attack combinations)

You know, after playing Castlevania with Alucard, it's really hard to go back to playing as the Belmonts. They just control so stiffly and awkwardly.

So, the JP store has PS1 downloads like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 1 AND 2... and we get Castlevania Chronicles...

Life isn't fair.

It may not hold a candle to Symphony of the Night, but any 2D Castlevania game on the PSN is more than welcome at my house :)

I have a dumb question - but is this different the UMD game Castlevania X: The Dracula Chronicles that recently, relatively speaking came out for the PSP?

No. Consider Castlevania Chronicles as more of a "reimagining" of the original Castlevania. It was released on the Sharp X68000 computer in Japan and included two never before seen levels. I played the X68000 version and it is a challenge, but Chronicles' PS1 version is much easier.

Sweet a new PS1 game on PSN, especially one that I missed out on the first time it come out. Now how about Xenogears and Metal Gear Solid Sony so I can play them on my PSP during my break at work.

I've got the original PS disc, didn't know it was fetching fabulous prices. It doesn't have the nostalgia value of the original, or the greatness of SotN, but it's okay.

Wow for $6 I think it will be a nice place to start the Castlevania series.
