Odyssey is Odd-ified: It's Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, jsyk.

Best $20 you'll ever spend (when the sequel is available). Oddysee and Exoddus were huge influences in many of my life choices, lots of love and cash to Oddworld Inhabitants (may they rest in peace).

I'm right there with you. I have the original PS games, and I would have bought these as well if I didn't already buy them off Steam. I hope their new game will be able to recapture the magic of the firs two.

Beneath a Steel Sky is a great game. If you are a fan of point and click adventure games at all, it's worth playing.

I can not stress enough how great a service GoG is. The industry has needed something like this for awhile.

A year or so ago, I was trying to play my old (and legal) copy of System Shock 2, but I just couldn't get all the patches straight, so I couldn't play it.

I can also vividly remember trying to play Diablo II a couple of years back, but being thwarted because I couldn't find the jewel case to locate the CD key I needed. I ended up downloading a crack from a back alley of the internet to play my fully legitimate retail copy.

It is sooo worth $10 to have a downloadable, fully-patched, unscratched version of a great game from years ago. Thank you GoG! You'll be getting my money for years to come!

In reply to myself:

I know that neither System Shock 2, or Diablo II are available from GoG.com...

That's funny because I've been itching to play SS2 again also, but have read horror stories of people trying to get it to work like yourself, so I haven't even tried.

Also, I hope the Icewind Dale games get on there eventually. I missed out on those.

BASS has been available for free for years now. But it's a decent adventure game and thanks to ScummVM you can take it with you anywhere (PC, DS, PSP etc)

Aren't 'Beneath a Steel Sky' and 'Flight of the Amazon Queen' freeware? ScummVM has provided downloadable copies for years.

Yeah, but you can play them if you're too lazy to download SCUMMVM. Besides, the GOG files include the manual.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. The difference being that we've slapped on the relatively quick GOG installer, and added in some bonus materials. Just looking to get all of this out to a wider audience.

I'm not trying to be the Joystiq Killjoy here, but both Beneath a Steel Sky and Lure of the Temptress have been freeware since 2003. That's five years, folks!

So Good Old Games is nice to host them on their site, I suppose, but I or anybody could just as easily start a website giving these games away for free as well. No biggie.

In all fairness, these games have been wrapped up in a XP/Vista compatible package so you don't need ScummVM.

Abe's Oddysee is such a unique, bizarre and brilliant game. Let's hope Abe's Exodus makes it on there too.

It really is. I'd love to see all the Oddworld games make their way across all available services. XBLA, PSN, Wiiware, PC, everything.

That first game is such a classic. The quirky atmosphere and humor is just amazing.

GRRR stupid comment system. try again:

While BASS and LOTT have been freeware for a while (and you probably already have them if you have linux) its cool that GOG is adding a few freeware titles to their service.

That service is excellent, with a nice site, good community, and good service.

I do kinda wish that more of the recent games were at the $5.99 pricepoint though, recent changes in exchange rates have made $9.99 above the impulse-buy price threshold.

PS/ If you haven't played it, get Hostile Waters, it rocks.
