Official Resistance 2 tournament begins next week

Think you're a R2 hot shot? Well, now's the time to prove your worth. Major League gaming and PlayStation have teamed up to present a $50,000 R2 Ladder. Some of the best players from all over the country will face off online, and the top 64 teams (256 players total) will win cash and prizes. The first place team will win $9,000 -- not a bad chunk of change for playing a video game, right?

Registration opens next week, on December 22nd. The competition is only open to US residents 17 years of age or older. To find out more, visit GameBattles.

any word on how long it'll last? im getting it as a gift from a friend on chistmas nd i wanna take part in it... ive been brushing up on r:fom just to get ready for r2. this is perfect.

It's a shame R2 plays so differently from R:FoM then. I was good on the first one but when I went over to R2 it took me by suprise because of the difference.

why not for Canadians?

Seriously just accept that it is US only. We EU-ers have to do it all the time too.. Just as some North Americans feel that they are always surpassed by Japan. The EU, or well let's just make it the PAL-region to include the AU/NZ in it, 97% of the time get everything last or NOT at all.. So seriously stfu plz..

I concur, its the PAL regions that loose out the most. We don't get the movie downloads from the PSN, and most games and hardware is about twice the price (well, maybe half as much again. Heck, we don't even have a release date for Rock Band 2 on the PS3 yet! Apparently AU/NZ get it even worse than EU countries though :O

On the plus side though, at least we get PlayTV

We don't have movie downloads either in Canada... And you usually pay more for most things in Canada. Not as much as you guys, but still.
