Cellfactor: Psychokinetic Wars coming to PSN, XBLA in 2009

Developed by Immersion Games and Timeline Interactive, the futuristic FPS gives players "their choice of gunfire and/or telekinetic superpowers," though we suspect "and" would be the wiser battle strategy. After all, why would you turn down the opportunity to "rip objects from the surrounding environment and hurl them at enemies?" Well, assuming you didn't already.
Psychokinetic Wars will offer 30 single-player "challenges," three controllable characters and four different multiplayer modes (Death Match, Capture the Flag, Team Death Match and Assault) in support of 16 players. Or, err, psychokinetic combatants.

This looks good. Dunno if I'll buy it, though.
Also, you guys should wait till after the article is posted to post the gallery. Some idiot could've snuck in and posted "FIRST" before the article was meant to be seen.

Good thing we avoided that disaster.

Yeah. I know. It's called irony.

That character's looking rather Nihei there. The background, unfortunately, does not. Yet another FPS-with-random-powers-thrown-in set in generic grubby sci-fi environment number 87.

I got excited for a second, an FPS that looks like System Shock at first glance of the screen shot...
...then I read "multiplayer only." Sigh. I'll still give the game a shot if it sounds good when it comes out or there's a demo, but this just smells like Sadowrun for the 360 already...

Seriously WTF? Bring back the hummingbirds they were less annoying.
Anyhow can I play as Eric Cartman? NIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE.

This game was the Ageia specific dev effort to use the Physics accelerator. I believe this is the non-ageia required version which means:
It use to be a shitty game to show off phys-x. Now its just a shitty game.

Nice.

Multiplayer only is a bit 'meeeeeeeh' but Telekinesis practically makes it an insant play for me. Or the trial game at least. More games need Telekinesis. Or rather GOOD Telekinesis...

Oh, comon, is single player mode so hard to do? Multi-only only works if you're Valve, Unreal, or Sins of a Solar Empire, and those last two just barely. But hey, grats, Team Fortress 2! You win at life!
