PixelJunk Monsters invading PSP in 2009

The diabolically addictive PS3 tower defense game, PixelJunk Monsters, is officially headed to PSP next year (which, if you haven't checked your calendar, is pretty soon). Appearing on Spike TV's "The Next Great Game Gods" VGA tie-in special, Q Games founder, Dylan Cuthbert, confirmed – and very briefly showed – the game.
After a short show-and-tell of conceptual images for canned projects – which included skiing and fighting games – Cuthbert broke the news, saying that, "We got a lot of requests from fan mail and stuff saying they really wanted a PSP-native version [of PixelJunk Monsters]." But the game won't merely be the PSN title retooled for the small screen. "We thought, rather than just port it directly, let's add a bit more," Cuthbert teased. Diabolical is right. If they include infrastructure play, it's a major win.

PixelJunk Monsters is all about awesome co-op though, I can't see that being viable in the PSP version, so I'm going to have to pass. I adore the PS3 version though.
Speaking of Monsters, why did all the PS3 achievements have to be single player only? :(

w00t! pj monsters on the go! imagine the addiction slowly taking control of your life. every chance you get, you pull out your psp and just defend your fellow villagers. i love it.

PJM and other games that I love but my husband hates are my main reason for wanting to get a PSP. I think since I'm almost done with the game on my PS3 I'll just use the remote play when I do get my system. Unless this "coming in 2009" nonsense includes being able to use the PSP as one of my 5 activated systems and it lets me save the game I've already got going to a PSP memory stick. ^_^

And maaaybe it was a no brainer move as well.... just saying... Before they didnt want to make a portable version because it wouldn't sense... I never wanted to kick a creator soo hard... but yet I love them so much for doing this :') I'll finally have a reason to use my psp again!

All I wish is it's linked with the PS3 version so if you manage to do things, you can still get trophies for you PS3 account... or have a PSP trophies version sometime in the next update so people will play their PSP more.
