A better look at Guitar Hero: Metallica

Last week, Metallica posted the first trailer for ~~Buy Another Guitar Hero: This Time With Metallica Songs~~ Guitar Hero: Metallica on its official site. The quality was dubious but the message was suitably loud and clear: you will "ride the lightning" in 2009. And, by "ride the lightning," we of course mean "press buttons on a plastic guitar and Metallica songs will happen."

Activision-Blizzard, having evidently accepted the game's existence at long last, today released a more watchable version of the teaser. That's what you'll see when you press "play" above. What you won't see is much of the game outside of some in-engine concert footage of the band performing and looking all ... Metallica-ic.

It would be great in this thread if some people would manage to remember that EA is the DISTRIBUTOR for Rock Band, NOT the publisher.

im a huge fan of metallica and its bad ass to listen to while your playing warwawk. warhawk is the only game that allows that. but what ive judged with both games is that rb is a better than guitar hero. even the graphics look way way better. but there is still room for improvement with facial expressions and the crowd looking like robots of the same motion. i have a feeling both franchises will get better in about 3 years or so... i really hope guitar hero metallica wont let me down or i probably wont buy. i would be surpised if the came out with new periphials like drums and anything but that plastic guitar but i doubt it.

It's about the songs,not the companies putting them out.

Didn't Harmonix license a couple of Metallica tracks before Activision grabbed them as "exclusive"?

And i'm not talking about the 3 that came out when the game first launched.

Rumor has it that they have the Master of Puppets lined up. Battery in RB2 could be a sign of things to come.

Well, the whole RB vs. GH contest was settled for me when Rock Band started releasing Megadeth records and Guitar Hero went with Metallica. I am a Megadeth fan through and through. I respect Metallica and acknowledge that they are a bigger band, but I think Dave Mustaine and co. have always been better at making fucking trash metal!
