See Burnout's Jansen 88 Special fly into action

The car, which certainly meets with Doc Brown's seal of approval, is one quarter of the upcoming Legendary Cars Pack, which will also include the Cavalry Bootlegger, Manhattan Spirit and GT Nighthawk. Now, if only our Flux Capacitor would start fluxing so we could leap ahead a few months and try this DLC out for ourselves.

That made me smile.

God Criterion is awesome. I think they are some of the most underrated developers in the industry (but not after Burnout Paradise though!)
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:14AM
Great Scott! As much as I hate that game, all Criterion is doing really makes me wanna buy it...
west43rd @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:23AM
I saw this in their podcast a couple days ago. I thought they were making it an early Christmas present and got really excited. Then...PSYCH! Next year still.
And then all through the house. Every creature was wailing. Yes even my mouse.

I was initially turned off by the demo for Burnout Paradise but they are throwing out some pretty cool DLC for it. I think I may pick this one up after all... but for which console I don't know. *frown*
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:45AM
May I suggest PC. I'm pretty sure there are going to be plenty of closed-circuit & retry mods for it.
Tez @ Dec 22nd 2008 10:29AM
And it looks considerably better on PC. I was surprised considering the already high quality on the console versions, but they are putting the same love into the PC version as well it seems.
Gorest Fump @ Mar 1st 2009 5:25PM
I have this on the 360 and PS3 - but play it all the time on the PS3 just for convenience sake. I was able to download this game on the PSN so no disc needed.
Snake Robot Podium @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:34AM
This DLC is game of the year 2009.
ScottG13 @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:57AM
For those that missed out on Burnout Paradise this year, be sure to check out the Ultimate Box edition hitting this February.

i want that version.
jimmygotsmack @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:57AM
Wouldn't a fly atomic car be unbalanced?
Double J @ Dec 22nd 2008 10:28AM
How dare you question the physics and science behind Back to the Future.
Obie @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:26AM
Technically the flying version works on fusion, not fission. Just throw in a banana peel and a coke can and bingo 1.21 Jiggawatts!!!
WiNG LifeInAGame.com @ Dec 22nd 2008 1:48PM
Actually that DeLorean was never a particularly fast car. Stainless steel is heavy stuff. Not to mention atomic reactors.
Roamer82 @ Dec 22nd 2008 10:07AM
Burnout Paradise would have been an excellent game, but for the lack of proper multiplayer. Online was never my cup of tea.
Tez @ Dec 22nd 2008 10:30AM
What do you mean by proper? You could tool around the city with 7 friends, or you can just do ranked events/races.
Kola @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:01AM
that comment right there was made by either someone who has never played burnout or a troll... simple
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:55AM
While I still hate the Midnight Club-esque "There's a checkpoint on the other side of the map - now go there", if they do put the retry button in, I'll be one of the first redeemed people to buy it.
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:56AM
Oh what the fuck? Just as I was about to say that the comment system has been pretty good over the last couple of weeks....
This was a reply to Tez.
Roamer82 @ Dec 22nd 2008 1:12PM
This was not a trolling attempt, simply me stating that I was disappointed with the lack of (offline) multiplayer modes in Burnout Paradise.
wes @ Dec 22nd 2008 4:19PM
Im with this guy...The older burnout games were crazy fun for the whole family. You could share one controller and crash around for hours...Thats the burnout I miss...I wont buy another burnout until a proper crash mode seen again.
Tez @ Dec 22nd 2008 10:31AM
My GOTY. The DLC kept me coming back and enjoying the game all year long. For free!
Looking forward to getting more cool stuff and having the opportunity to give Criterion some extra hard-earned cash.
ToRo @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:36AM
This would've defitnely been one my favorite games of the year if it just had a retry option. Speaking of which, when is the update that gives you a retry option coming out?
Tez @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:40AM
Not sure, I have only heard it confirmed for the PC version, but I assume it'll hit the consoles as well. Honestly it was never a problem for me until I was going for the last two or three events on the Elite License.
Kol @ Dec 22nd 2008 12:47PM
meh... it took this for you people to notice the best arcade racer this gen? Burnout always been the best just highly underrated. so for all of the need for speed lovers and the omg there's no retry pansies. come on down to paradise city and see what arcade racing is all about.
Deeznuts420 @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:48AM
1.21 GIGGAWATTS!
343 Guilty Fart @ Dec 22nd 2008 12:54PM
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads...
Doom3killer @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:12PM
How did you manage to spell giga wrong?
PeterBeck @ Dec 22nd 2008 12:48PM
I honestly can't wait for the DLC to come out. And considering all the freebies we got (Bikes being the biggest), paid content is totally cool by me.
The only thing I'm a bit anxious about is the possibility that they'll eventually pack all the paid DLC together in one Value Pack with a discount price (been seeing this often in the PS3 Store). But knowing me, zipping around in movie themed cars will take immediate priority over sale prices.
CJLopez @ Dec 22nd 2008 12:52PM
Hey, i can use the bluethoot on burn out paradise???
never knew I could!!!
I'm so using it next time I hook!!!
Hey, anyone wanna add me on their buddy list on ps3? My psn is CJLopez2
Duke @ Dec 22nd 2008 4:05PM
There was another CJLopez out there?
CJLopez @ Dec 22nd 2008 4:10PM
CJLopez is used on my European account (the first time I signed to PSN i choosed Spain as my country because Mexico wasn't listed) and now I have also CJLopez3 for the Mexican PSN and CJLopez4 for the japanese one, but still is CJLopez2 the one i use mostly cuz home and is were I have most of my friends
Deck @ Dec 22nd 2008 1:48PM
I love this game. And the support Criterion is giving it is absolutely amazing. Go Criterion go!
Nexto @ Dec 22nd 2008 2:22PM
I just bought this game last week, Some friends and I needed a change from all the shooters. It's alot of fun and the crashes are wicked.
One question though, Why would they release a christmas movie about this, and say it was the night before Xmas and the car showed up, could it be that they are releasing this tomorrow? It doesn't make sense, why you would promote a FREE DLC pack that supposedly comes out next year with a christmas movie?
Megadanxzero @ Dec 22nd 2008 2:38PM
This will forever be the best DLC ever...
PhydeWice @ Dec 22nd 2008 6:13PM
88 MILES PER HOUR!!!
Premature ejaculation man @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:23PM
I'm still saddened by the lack of split screen...However, the Party mode and the ultimate pack coming next Feruary, I think I will have to buy this game.
Premature ejaculation man @ Dec 22nd 2008 9:23PM
Yes...I did mean Feruary, its right after Smarch...
