What it lacks in a Flux Capacitor and time circuits,Burnout Paradise's hover-enabled "Jansen 88 Special" more than makes up for in its ability to make us drool, as evidenced in new footage released by Criterion Games. View it after the break!
The car, which certainly meets with Doc Brown's seal of approval, is one quarter of the upcoming Legendary Cars Pack, which will also include the Cavalry Bootlegger, Manhattan Spirit and GT Nighthawk. Now, if only our Flux Capacitor would start fluxing so we could leap ahead a few months and try this DLC out for ourselves.
I saw this in their podcast a couple days ago. I thought they were making it an early Christmas present and got really excited. Then...PSYCH! Next year still.
And then all through the house. Every creature was wailing. Yes even my mouse.
I was initially turned off by the demo for Burnout Paradise but they are throwing out some pretty cool DLC for it. I think I may pick this one up after all... but for which console I don't know. *frown*
And it looks considerably better on PC. I was surprised considering the already high quality on the console versions, but they are putting the same love into the PC version as well it seems.
I have this on the 360 and PS3 - but play it all the time on the PS3 just for convenience sake. I was able to download this game on the PSN so no disc needed.
While I still hate the Midnight Club-esque "There's a checkpoint on the other side of the map - now go there", if they do put the retry button in, I'll be one of the first redeemed people to buy it.
Im with this guy...The older burnout games were crazy fun for the whole family. You could share one controller and crash around for hours...Thats the burnout I miss...I wont buy another burnout until a proper crash mode seen again.
This would've defitnely been one my favorite games of the year if it just had a retry option. Speaking of which, when is the update that gives you a retry option coming out?
Not sure, I have only heard it confirmed for the PC version, but I assume it'll hit the consoles as well. Honestly it was never a problem for me until I was going for the last two or three events on the Elite License.
meh... it took this for you people to notice the best arcade racer this gen? Burnout always been the best just highly underrated. so for all of the need for speed lovers and the omg there's no retry pansies. come on down to paradise city and see what arcade racing is all about.
I honestly can't wait for the DLC to come out. And considering all the freebies we got (Bikes being the biggest), paid content is totally cool by me.
The only thing I'm a bit anxious about is the possibility that they'll eventually pack all the paid DLC together in one Value Pack with a discount price (been seeing this often in the PS3 Store). But knowing me, zipping around in movie themed cars will take immediate priority over sale prices.
CJLopez is used on my European account (the first time I signed to PSN i choosed Spain as my country because Mexico wasn't listed) and now I have also CJLopez3 for the Mexican PSN and CJLopez4 for the japanese one, but still is CJLopez2 the one i use mostly cuz home and is were I have most of my friends
I just bought this game last week, Some friends and I needed a change from all the shooters. It's alot of fun and the crashes are wicked.
One question though, Why would they release a christmas movie about this, and say it was the night before Xmas and the car showed up, could it be that they are releasing this tomorrow? It doesn't make sense, why you would promote a FREE DLC pack that supposedly comes out next year with a christmas movie?
I'm still saddened by the lack of split screen...However, the Party mode and the ultimate pack coming next Feruary, I think I will have to buy this game.
