CMT: Roy Orbison heading to Rock Band
And CMT would know, with it being an MTV-owned station and all. While promoting the episode of the Top 20 Countdown set for Dec. 26, the network let slip that a pack of Roy Orbison tunes would be headed to Rock Band 2. We're sure you've already set your TiVos for CMT's Top 20 Countdown, but now you can set them harder.
So, which tunes? We've got out fingers crossed for "I Drove All Night", but we know that's probably a longshot. Here's hoping there are some more details coming on the 26th.

I predict 'Only The Lonely', 'Pretty Woman' and... something else. But that's the only two songs I know.
Lars @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:24PM
What about that Ring of Fire song? I don't know or like his songs, but that one and Pretty Woman I've heard all too often.
Not dissing on Roy, he's just not my style. I wish Harmonix would give us some more "rocking" Rock Band songs, like Led Zep, Queen, etc. This is the second Country pack and there's a bunch of Southern stuff too... where are the Harmonix guys from? Alabama? Texas?
Eric @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:31PM
Ring of Fire is Johnny Cash. Also Roy Orbison is not really country he is early Rock and Roll. Honestly go find his stuff on youtube and give it a listen the man is awesome.
Eric @ Dec 23rd 2008 10:56AM
FUCKING A!!!!!!!!!! This is the greatest news ever! This rules. God i hope they Get Mean Women Blues.
Alex @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:00AM

Anam @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:05AM
What is your avatar?
Is it a viking next to a pie chart?
Haggard @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:06AM
It's the back of a cat.. next to a pie chart.
Duke @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:34AM
LMAO It's the Copy Cat from the Staples commercial. He was making a copy of a pie chart.
Anam @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:51AM
Oh, I see it now. I guess it's one of those pictures where it looks like a viking and then you look at it differently and suddenly you see a cat.
Haggard @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:25PM

Eric @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:03AM
I am so excited for this. WOW what is next? Elvis? Beach Boys? Buddy Holly? Rock Band Rules. Songs liek these would never end up on GH.
elpmis @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:07AM
Beach Boys would be so full of win
Kyera @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:26AM
Oh God, please let actually happen.
Kyera @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:28AM
And, of course, after I post I stumble upon confirmation from HMXSean on the forums (details next week, apparently). Yay!
oolz @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:34AM
consider it confirmed. None of the Vh1 leaks, if you can even call it that, have ever turned out to be false. Harmonix may not confirm it until the day before it comes out, but you can bank on it.
and yes, it's awesome.
elpmis @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:06AM
Good luck trying to sign 'Crying' - imo this is the ultimate Roy Orbison song
LaughingTarget @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:29AM
Momma said I couldn't get a tattoo of Roy Orbison on my ass, but what mamma don't know, can't hurt her.
jron @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:59PM
No son of mine is gonna play any foos-ball.
horngreen @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:36AM
Wow I'm impressed you younguns want this. I expected to come in here and have to rail on some punk who was bitching about getting Roy and not more Slipknot. You have restored my faith in mankind kids!
Eric @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:50AM
Who says where young?
Alex @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:48PM
Your use of grammar suggests a young age.
It's "Who said we're young?"
KingTorres @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:44PM
Inspects alex's sarcasm detector:off
Eric @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:32PM
Ha fuck, boy i feel foolish.
J.Goodwin @ Dec 23rd 2008 11:59AM
Wow. I didn't see this one coming, but now that I know it's coming, I want it badly. That's why Rock Band beats Guitar Hero every time.
Salviati @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:51PM
I hope they put In Dreams on there. I love the drum track on this tune, not to mention everything else.

Kyera @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:01PM
Someone (quite reputable) on ScoreHero mentioned that they had recorded the Roy Orbison special on VH1, and the banner ad mentioning this named "In Dreams" and "Oh, Pretty Woman" as two of six songs in the pack.
Levi @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:30PM
Candy colored clown!
Graham Wellington (formerly tyrone washington, or marsha goldberg) @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:38PM

Roy Orbison alone is great new though.
B3astofthe3ast @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:02PM
Goddammit HMX, Where's Texas Flood???!!! I want my fingers to fall off to the tune of rude mood!!!
Brazell @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:06PM
Oh damn this is my shit
Jeff @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:08PM
OH YES THE MAGIC VOICE.
Still...as far as country goes (is Roy Orbison really country? I don't think so), this game needs more Williams...Hank, Hank, Hank, AND Andy. Especially that last Hank.
Glass @ Dec 23rd 2008 9:35PM
They'd better include "Crying." That'd make for some damned tough vocals...
Rorschach @ Dec 23rd 2008 6:45PM
The Big O is exactly what Rockband needs!
michas_pi @ Dec 23rd 2008 7:37PM
Leave Bond to me.
