Infected monkeys not withstanding, games about the undead are all the rage, which is why we're puzzled at UK-based Kuju Entertainment's apparent decision to shelve Redwood Falls. According to PlayStation Universe, the Battalion Wars dev has taken a shotgun to the upcoming PS3-exclusive zombie shooter, a representative from the company reportedly telling the site that "the game itself is on hold."
First demoed during the Japanese Play UK event in 2006, Redwood Fall's chief gimmick was the ability to rip opponents to shreds with gunfire, with bodies reacting in a believable manner to being torn apart. Honestly, we'd like to be more broken up over this news, had the game not completely fallen off of our radar like a dismembered limb. Even so, we're following up with Kuju, and will update if we find out more.

Well every time a small develop makes a PS3 exclusive them to end up out of business. Factor 5 and Free Radical's situation may have influenced Kuju.

The question is, is it the game developers fault for making crappy games, or the PS3s fault for not brining in the sales of said games?

Well... Free Radical and Factor 5 never had any trouble with sales until they made a PS3 exclusive each...

Forgot to add that their games were shitty. If Haze was made for 360 it would be no different.

Pity. I remember the tech demo. It looked much more promising as far as dismemberment goes than Deep Space with its pre-programmed sever points. Hope someone else picks it up.

Or maybe upon release this game would be considered a poor mans Left 4 Dead!!! Which is what it sounds like. I dont get why everyone is blaming sony for companies closing. Factor 5 was paid by sony to create Lair. But when EA makes an attempt to buy one of these smaller companies everyone whines well this is what happens.

Yeah, that what happens when a developer if making a game that seems unique, then a similar games hits the market as you are still creating yours, and you play the one already out *cough* Left4Dead *cough*, and when you go back to yours, you can tell everything sucks.
Competition and comparisons would have been against L4D anyway, so unless you can match how fun and well done it is, no need to make a game that would probably drop on review when compared to a previous game. I like this developers as they did Battalion Wars, but never heard of this one before, so it musn't be very good.

Whoa, I was just thinking about what happened to this one the other day...
Although, I remember watching the tech demo in '06 and feeling kind of uneasy about watching it. I remember being a little uncomfortable with the level of realism and figured that if/when the game came out, the media would have a FIELD day with it.
I can't say I'm that broken up about it being shelved.

Just like WWII games I really don't think I'll get tired of them. I might be the weird one here though...

Aren't they called Headstrong games now? Theyre working on the 70s exploitation style House of the Dead game..which should definatly take priority over this.
