Christmas, Xmas, Consumermas, Christmahanakwanza, Ludachristmas. If you celebrated any of these holidays, or if you had to cower in fear as robot Santa flew overhead looking for easy prey, we want to hear about it. More importantly, we want to know what presents you got, too -- game-related mostly, but if you want to tell us about your other presents, we'll sit here politely and listen. Our gift to you is after the break -- trust us, if you haven't seen Santa Claus Conquers the Martians before, you're really missing out.
For a trip down memory lane, check out our Consumermas posts from 2006 and 2007.
A Playstation 3 160gb, an extra Dual Shock 3, Mirror's Edge(360), Rock Band (and instruments)(360), Force Unleashed(360), Lips(360), that wireless internet 360 thing, and CoD:WW(360) just the day before Christmas.
i got money. but what i gave to my parents was way better:
i gave them my Playstation 2 and a copy of Dance Dance Revolution Extreme and Singstar. they've never played a video game in their lives and were really nervous at first, but once they heard music they recognized, they got really into it and actually started getting B's on beginner. Its a small feat, but they've been playing both games back and forth nonstop.
I am thankful we're not playing any casual wii shovelware (cuz my wii doesnt appreciate it).
Mirrors edge, Resistance 2 and buzz, and a tie, and a jumper. With all the unhype following the hype for mirrors edge i was expecting to be dissapointed, but it was god enough to surprise me at not being dissapointed
One day I will make sense of this, my brain will stop fizzing and I will play the second level.....
I told all of my family members (Mom, Fiance, Grandparents, etc..) not to get me anything for Christmas.. and to just sponsor an angel from the angel tree so that kids who really need a great christmas can get one--I have everything I need.. (I have a 42" Samsung LCD.. Xbox 360... all that I bought my self by working hard.
Then I lost my job...So since I had the extra spare time I went and volunteered at the local family resource center (which the fiance's mother works at) shopping for filler gifts for the rest of the angel tree kids and helping sort them for their delivery.. it felt great.
You wanna know what I got in return?
A PS3 Little Big Planet Madden 09 $100 cash Invincible (blu ray) Socks/Underwear 2 hoodies
My Mom/Fiance/Fiance's Parents thought that everything I did was so kind and gracious that they all pitched in and got me all that stuff (the $100 was from an Aunt)
I also learned a whole lot about life and how Christmas really is more about giving than receiving, and that the more you truly care and give, the more you receive in the end. I'm only 20 years old, but over the past 3 months I've taken a new outlook on life.
Sorry for the rant. I just wanted to share what I got for Christmas!
