Don't Canadian games cost like 10 dollars more than our games? So these deals are like at our prices now. Eh?

Yeah, what's that aboot? :(

Though with the exchange rate right now, it's somewhat reasonable. When we were even it was just bullshit.

Just get rid of Quebec and you'll be paying US prices. Getting that French translation is costly, let them pay it.

Uusally, XBox/PS3 games are CAD60 and PC games are CAD50. I'm pretty sure that's the same as in the US.

After all the local taxes, that works out to be about USD55 and USD45. (Exchange at 1:0.8 and 13% tax).

Game prices between the US and Canada began to equalize around November 2007 when the Canadian dollar went on a run. Despite the huge swing downwards in 2008, most prices on game products have remained the same as in the US, except a few notable releases costing $5 more such as Fallout 3, Call of Duty: World at War and Wratch of the Lich King.

Boxing day deals are generally never as good as Black Friday, especially this year. Then again our economy didn't implode.

Shot on Boxing Day?

I don't claim to understand Canadian culture, but it sounds like the type of sales holiday where you'd be challenged to a rousing round of fisticuffs over the eventual ownership of temporarily cheapened goods.

I don't doubt that there would still be tramplings, though.

Americans have gun control. And how's that working out for you?

At least we don't have a war on drugs, war on terror, and people on TV who keep trying to convince us that there's a war on Christmas.

"Nintendo Wii Points Card - (Reg. CDN$ 24.99)"

So ridiculous that some people charge that much for a Wii Points card. Most places I've seen charge $20.00, though. (I am in Canada.)

Can't wait to throw the 3.75 GB School Wikipedia full on there so I can settle those bar disputes when there's no WiFi access.

Despite being American, i shall scour some of the stores.

It's a bit early (it was just released) but i am going to try and find Metalocalypse Season 2 DVD for cheap. Certainly some stores should be eager to liquidate inventories in this environment (even if they aren't going under), and hopefully that inventory is a warehouse full of Metalocalypse

also keanu reeves, mike myers , etc. , wow lots of typical american "blame canada" elistist bs here as expected.

guess what? you have 10x canada's population. wouldn't you expect a lot more actors there? It doesn't mean however that great talent hasn't come from canada. Just in a smaller proportion. Aren't Statistics great! This retarded american elitism is one reason canadians generally dislike americans.

Regarding the Wii points card - I picked up Animal Crossing w/Wii Speak + the card and got $15 off a couple weeks back - if that's still going on tomorrow, then it's a good deal if you want both.

You guys are missing the HMV deals.

Gears of war 2
little big planet
Prince of persia (for ps3 and 360)
mario galaxy
super smash bros brawl
mario party 8

all for $29.99

source:
http://boxingday.redflagdeals.com/index.php/flyers/image_full/844/

hmv probably has the best sales, the dark night dvd for $10, and 300 in blu ray for the same price, are some other good sales from this place.

Nice tags you arrogant Yank. Typical BS rhetoric from a POS blog writer. Given that I guess its foolish of me to expect any kind of journalistic integrity. It'd be nice if you clowns could author a Canada-related post without resorting to bottom of the barrel, tired jabs.

It wouldn't irritate me if it didn't happen so often. I don't go on with US stereotypes for posts related to American culture, but that is almost always the case with both the blog authors and subsequent commenters for canadian articles.

The jabs in this particular post include the tags (hockey, molson, moooooooooose, no-one-reads-these-anyways) and the photo.

It has gotten to the point where I'm actually surprised to read Canadian content posts with no derivative points or comments made. That's a sad state of affairs.
