This year has brought us a slew of incredible Xbox Live Arcade titles so whittling the list down to five contenders is a difficult task. In the end the top honors went to the five titles we felt delivered on all promises made and showcased greatness, even through their shortcomings.
Braid might be the 'trendy' pick, but I'm still going with it.
I remember going through the trial version and immediately realizing that this was something special and different. And I remember a few hours later blinking at 2 AM and realizing that this game was tapping into something I hadn't felt seemingly since picking up a Nintendo controller for the first time.
Even putting the nostalgia and brilliant art and music aside, the gameplay alone makes it a worthy pick for XBLA game of the year. But the fantastic presentation is what made it an all-timer in my mind.
Castle Crashers will be on the list - this is just a small problem to work out. It will be looked into in the coming months, will take a while to get fixed, and then the review committee will take a look at it. Expect the Castle Crashers for Game of Year patch to hit XB360Fanboy in 6-9 months.
Unfortunately you are wrong. Releasing an incomplete game (even if you don't play that mode) wouldn't fly for any other title, so why does Castle Crashers get a pass?
By your logic, GeoWars 2 and Braid shouldn't be on the list either because their multiplayer was broken too (they didn't have online!). When I played Castle Crashers online I didn't have any problems and was able to complete the game with two other friends.
