that one concern I have is that the fighting looked horribly dull. the camera just stays in one place above/behind the character and all he does is jab. With kingdom hearts, everything was fast and fluid, while what I see is a angsty teenager lazily smacking a flash light against a giant jelly fish. If I was him, I would get the hell out of there!

Fluid, sure. But Kingdom Hearts wasn't exactly what I called "fast"... I mean, if a fireball or any spell for that matter takes more than 1 second to hit the enemy - I wouldn't call it fast.

For the record, I've contacted XSeed about the game, and they've replied that they're getting a ton of letters about it and it's definitely something they're keeping an eye on. Email them more, people!

I'm not a fan of these kinds of games, but if this came stateside, I'd almost surely pick it up, if only for the art style. This game looks crazy impressive!

It's such a shame that there are so many quality Wii games coming out in Japan and publishers are refusing to bring them to the US. At least Europe gets about half of these types of games.

I don't see how anyone who doesn't understand Japanese be excited for this game. It's only compelling feature is the dialogue.

I don't have much interest for this game, sure the music is nice and yay anime art style as oppose to gray and brown, I guess. This just doesn't seem to pull you in if you don't know what's happening. It's just kid walks around with a flash light and dialogue happens is all I see. I don't see any atmospheric or horrific genius happening here.

I'm pretty glad they won't bring thsi to the US because, honestly, who would play it besides a few thousand people?

...I watched Chinese Imperial War dramas as a kid.
I had no idea what was going on because I couldn't understand Mandarin, and I definitely didn't know how to read Cantonese subtitles.

I still enjoyed watching it.
By watching the emotions and actions taking place, I made up my own dialogue in my head.

And in that fashion, we can still be excited about a story we can't even understand yet. :P

Hoomph! Localization is going to be a nasty job on this one. Not only is there a lot of dialogue, both written and spoken, but there are Japanese Talky Scribbles (the technical term) all around the environments too! Think about how much work would have to go in to converting this to English, and that is discounting French, Spanish,Portuguese and German! I do not envy the Localization team on this game, assuming that there will be one....

This is the game that I'm expecting the most, It looks like it will be really emotive and moving, and that's something not every game can do, even if they try.

Psh. Back in my day, people learned Japanese for better things!
...like watching anime! :P Because tons of the series that we all know now, were never in English back in the day... it took them years just to get some good subtitles.
...those people that learned Japanese eventually became the main people who make fansubs and manga translations to this very day.

...learning Japanese for a video game isn't that useful. Unless of course, the game has TONS AND TONS of sub-menus. Then Japanese would be of use! :D

From the vid clips above, I get almost an early Silent Hill feel. Crumbly, spooky building. Flashlight in hand the only real source of light. Silence except for the sound of crickets and his own footsteps. Not necessarily terrifying, but just plain ol' spooky. And that intro song is great! I certainly hope they take the time to translate and release this in other places than Japan.

The song is amazing because it is Aoi Teshima. She is one of my favorite up and coming Japanese singers around and that song is her best so far.
