While the rest of the world is in the middle of a recession, Nintendo's got more money coming in than ever, and it appears that they don't see that changing any time soon. According to Digitimes, Nintendo has increased the quantity of an order with a company called Invensense, who makes the rate gyroscope used in the upcoming MotionPlus peripheral.
This suggests that Nintendo is increasing their estimate of MotionPlus demand -- and probably increasing their expectations for the sales of Wii Sports Resort. Either that or they are ramping up production of MotionPlus according to an existing plan. Something (let's call it "history") tells us that even their augmented production won't keep up with demand for 2009's big-big-big Nintendo product.

Average wii controller=$36 . . . plus nunchuck=$18 . . . Add the motion plus at $??? Let's just guess $20 . . . Somewhere around $80 including tax for one frickin' controller for one person to play. So if you want four people playing you are looking at $320 worth of remotes, but subtract $80 for the one remote you got with your Wii. That is still $240, which is just about the price of the Wii. I love my Wii but with all the money I am spending on controllers I might as well go buy a PS3.I don't want to hate, but come on!

well apparently this is packaged with the new wii sports so if that game is any good, I'm going to buy it and then maybe I'll buy another motion-thing for my P2.. I'm not too offended by this pricing, its pretty optional.

I wouldn't be surprised if this sold more than Wii Play. It's got the Wii Sports name on it, which everyone knows, and it actually looks like a fun game on top of that. I know I'll be picking it up this spring.

How will this work with the Wii Remote Jacket? Will we need a new one to fit around a Wiimote with the MotionPlus installed?

This was obvious. WiiSports Resort will be a huge game release. I really think Nintendo should put 2 in the title, casual gamers are dumb and they would assume they have that game.
Anyway my sister, brother both have a wii so they don't mind bring over wiimotes/nunchucks to play 4 player.
I'm buying this game, and an extra motion plus for my 2nd controller. I got 2 wiimotes, 2 nunchucks, and 2 classic controllers, 4 cube controllers, and 2 perfect shots.
I hope they do have WiiPlay 2 that comes with a Second WiiMotionPlus and all the games on the disk require it. That way it will be $30 or something and the price will be justified.
