Marble Saga: Kororinpa could end up being a sleeper hit of 2009 -- or at least one of those underappreciated critical successes. The first game was great but a bit lacking in content, and the sequel adds all kinds of junk! There's a four-player mode, leaderboards, a stage editor with online sharing, Balance Board compatibility, and, most importantly (well, not really), a super-adorable storyline about an ant, seen here expressing joy at the completion of a stage.
The new screens at Wiiz are regrettably smallish, but detailed enough for you to see plenty of stuff to roll around on. There's even a screen of the four-player mode!

Looking much more satisfying. Too bad it'll have to fight hard for my attention this coming year.
Now if only they could put a "Kirby" skin over the whole thing, and make a new tilt n' tumble. Then i'd be all over it

I think this is my #3 most anticipated game for next year, behind MadWorld and Sin & Punishment 2.
I can't wait to feel bad about making the poor little cat marble go "meoOUCH!" when he rolls off a high platform again!

Wish someone would make an updated Marble Madness. I really liked the first Kororinpa, but it was really on the sedate side. Marble Madness had enemies, sections that required lots of tight turns and sections that required high speed, active hazards (like the vacuum tubes that popped up when you got close enough), that one level where gravity was reversed and all the enemies were tiny, and more variety in its six levels than Kororinpa had in its 50.
Of course, it wasn't actually a 3D game and its physics were so-so. But games like Hamsterball have already proved it's possible to make an updated Marble Madness, in spirit and gameplay if not in name. Now we just need one for the Wii.
