ESRB lists Guitar Hero: Modern Hits for DS

Everyone, please, raise an eyebrow and pretend to be surprised. We first heard about Guitar Hero Modern Hits when Activision Blizzard trademarked it in October, but we didn't have any more details. Now, GHMH has resurfaced, this time on the ESRB's website with an E10+ rating for the Nintendo DS.

Based on lyrics referenced in the listing's description, we know three songs from the game: Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer," Franz Ferdinand's "The Fallen" and Sum 41's "Still Waiting." Given the DSi's launch next year, this will likely be the last GH DS title before Activision Blizzard needs to figure out a new peripheral to release.

Why the f*** are they pumping out more new titles (GH:MH and GH:M) when they've got this shiny new game that would be best served if ALL OF THESE SONGS WERE DLC FOR IT?

Yes T, they should be putting out DLC for the DS. It's totally possible.

Because everyone loves shiny new discs, whilst DLC is the preserve of people who know what they like in rock music.

@lego: I'm talking about that full band game Activision rolled out on all current-gen consoles a few months ago.

Are you kidding me? If the DSi launches in NA in the Summer of '09, ActiBlizzard can release at least 4 or 5 more games before they have to ditch the current peripheral. ;)

Aaaahhh, but the DSi has no GBA slot. The GH peripheral connects via the GBA slot, so a new peripheral should show its face really soon.

Give it a month...Activision will release their own GH Console. (Of course, it won't be compatible with previous GH titles)

Didn't they just announce Guitar hero decades? These fucking people don't even bother to be discreet with the milking. I feel as if their in public with cow in the middle of the street sucking away.

Hell, even my less informed 12 year old cousins agree that there are too many of those games coming out.

It's been Activision's MO to announce the next GH game before the most current one is even released (or just out the door).

Look at GH:M, which had a trailer IN GH:WT, essentially congratulating all of GH's fans for supporting their product and thanking them for their support by showing them all the awesome songs they would never get to play unless they wait another 6 months to buy this other game.

I quit these guitar games and bought a real one, learned how to play it. I'd rather give my money to real guitar companies than to the milking madmen that are known as ActiBlizzard

I did the same thing, but in all honesty, I still play Rock Band. Why do I play Rock Band now that I am learning the guitar you ask? Because, as I'm sure you discovered, the real guitar is fucking hard. A little Rock Band break makes me feel better about not being able to get bar chords to sound right yet. :)

It is ridiculously hard to start =(. I started learning scales now, chromatic and stuff...It's so complicated lol. And i think i see myself going back on rock band every now and then, after the gaping holes on my finger tips close up :D

But really, I think figuring out and playing an instrument is much better than what I consider wasting time on GH/RB. It might not be for everyone, surely wont be easy, but I feel it'll bring anyone more enjoyment in the long run.

If you can't play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with a MIDI-synth Steel Drum effect, I'm not interested.

Its just my opinion that their last game for DS needs DLC, because not only will people be able to entertain themselves a little while longer, Activision won't need to worry about their precious income from the game because people will be buying their music still.

But Activision wuodl need to sell GHOT points or something considering the fact that the Nintendo DS doesn't have a store.

is the peripheral required for play on the current guitar hero game?

I like World Tour just fine, but these DS games are getting ridiculous.

Want to know the saddest part of this story..............it will sell like crazy.

I havent gotten the other two, so I guess I'll pick up this one.

And i'm sure theyll figure out how to do GH on the DSi, or Rock Band will beat them to it

I envision a rubberized skin to fit the underside of the DSi, with the buttons acting on piano-style levers and padded hammers that will strike the bottom of the touchscreen - meaning they only have to code for stylus-style play, not for buttons - but the buttons could then be used for pedals, mock drums, pitch bends, etc. And unintentionally, it will also mean you're playing a percussion instrument sort of.
