New games this week: Hurry Up Hedgehog! edition

You want to know why this is the very best time of the year? Because post-Christmas is the only time a company would have the iridescent, titanium balls to release a game about fast hedgehogs that's in no way related to Sonic the Hedgehog.

Think about it. "Hurry Up Hedgehog!" is one step away from "Stomp that Freakishly Large Mushroom Already, Fat, Red-Overalls-Clad Plumber!". It's a Christmas miracle.

Seems like a title I wouldn't be surprised at seeing at a dollar store

It probably plays better than recent Sonic games.

It's likely the best hedgehog-based game in 5 years+.

Shouldn't the title be: "Hurry up (and Die Sonic The) Hedgehog!"

It would be hilarious (yet sad) if this game somehow took off and Sonic wound up playing second fiddle to this franchise.

I think Sonic has played second fiddle to virtually ANY title the past few years. :)

Reflective's Borderline looks promising.

I haven't heard TERRIBLE things from Insecticide. It's certainly not the greatest game, but ain't no barrel scraper.

Ways in which Hurry Up Hedgehog is superior to Sonic the Hedgehog:
1. Character's design remains consistent from multiple angles.
2. Character's face is capable of displaying more than one expression.
3. Character does not seem to be saddled with an assortment of colourful, gimmicky sidekicks.
4. Character does not appear to suffer from lycanthropy, nor is he wielding an inexplicable broadsword.
5. Character resembles an actual hedgehog.

Sega are pissing themselves with fear right now.

6. Character changes the color of its irises at will.

What a good week off. I really need the down time from buying games so I can get through them. Grabbed Resistance 2 this week finally, and am enjoying that.

I have yet to even get to the MP of it yet. I will let you know when I do. I Just got to the SP Chicago level and called it a day.
