We really don't know much about this third-party Swiss army peripheral other than what we can glean from its name and a fuzzy product picture. It's a PlayStation 3 remote, keyboard and controller, although the latter is still up for debate since it's hard to tell how playable those thumbsticks are -- if that's even what they are. We also can't really tell if there are L and R triggers behind the remote portion or if we'd somehow have to use the keys on the top of the remote. Regardless, at just under $30, consider our curiosity officially piqued.

Everything on the Dualshock is awesome. Having being shifted to my 360 after I had to send my Ps3 in for maintenance I grow sick of the bulkiness inflicted on me while I play Gears.

It does appear to be even less ergonomic than the Dual-Shock though, and that hasn't happened since the Wii's Classic Controller...

It's often down to hands. My larger ones prefer a 360 pad (or the Duke from back in the day), but my friends love the dualshock. But I don't get why Sony have designed their analogue sticks convex rather than concave, since it's the exact opposite shape of your thumbs.

the Dualshock design has been around for over 15 years now.....if it was REALLY THAT bad they would have changed it and stuck with that dumb Boomerang lookin shit........fuckin fanboys.........get off it.....

360 may have better analog sticks, but the DS3 has a MUCH better d-pad.
That's the only issue I have with the 360 controllers, otherwise I love them. The d-pad is counter-intuitive with anything 2D. Try playing Contra/Super Contra with the d-pad, go into a crouch, and then try to switch aim to the opposite side without getting up and pointing your gun at the ground, then ending up eating a bullet by a grunt soldier's pea shooter.

I prefer the 360 controller hands down. The placement of the analog sticks on the dualshock is just awful. The 360s left stick is perfect, it's right where my thumb wants to be.

I don't mind the sticks on the dual shock. I hate the position of the shoulder buttons though. True that the dual shock's design has been around for 15 years. To me that just means that it's an antiquated design that they had to fall back on because of the backlash from the boomerang design. IMO, the 360 controller is better.

I don't get the large hands argument. My hands are pretty big(I've got Code Geass hands) and the 360 controller fits the same as the Dualshock.

I don't get why people don't like the 360 D-Pad...
1) I don't see what's wrong with it, it works fine for me, and I prefer the feel of it to the rough surface on the Dual shock (Plus the gaps in between buttons are really uncomfortable)
2) I never use it anyway... I can't see why you would unless there's some game that uses it loads that I don't know about

I never had a problem switching between both controllers when I still had my 360. In all honesty I don't even really have much of a preference. Just one of those things. I do think the DS3 has the more useful d-pad and the 360 controller has better should buttons - but for me those are not that big of a deal on either.
The Wii controller is the one that took some serious getting used to for me. I usually just use the classic controller because I can't stand the Wii Mote and chuck. It's just one of those things for me but it doesn't stop me from enjoying Wii games.
TL:DR version
I'm good with pretty much any controller on any console. Small differences between them that makes little difference to me.

I like both the Dual Shock controller and the 360 controller. The only thing that makes the Dual Shock better in my book is the D-Pad. Microsoft still can't get it right.

Any 360 console that gets the RRoD will be repaired for free if it's been less than 3 years since you bought it. Considering the fact that the 360's only just turned 3 I'd say that's a pretty good deal...

I checked it out this morning when Kotaku scooped it :::cough cough:::
It's just about 50 bucks shipped to the US. Might as well buy the real thing I think. Some reviews on it have been pretty decent so far. One thing is for sure, Their servers got hit hard today from all the publicity. From engaget, kotaku, and now joystiq.

Technically, the DS3 does all of that. Oh, and that thing probably doesn't vibrate. On another note, whats up with the DS hate? Prior to my forum days, it was my impression that it was good. And I still like it. Could somebody tell me whats wrong with it, while not being a dick?

Well, it's not that bad once you get used to it, but I still think that anybody who honestly prefers it to 360 controller is either a fanboy or has small hands...

I just don't get why the haven't changed it at all since the PS1... It's clearly a very flawed design, why haven't they tried to improve it? Well... Unless you count the boomerang thing, but I'm sure that must have been a joke

It sells. Nobody except us nerds care about the ergonomics of a pad, and as Nintendo has proved, what nerds thinks mean nothing, financially.
You look at a Dualshock and the brand-association lobe of your brain clicks and says "playstation controller". They've been around so long that they're less daunting, whilst if you hand the average soccer mom a Gamecube, N64 or old Xbox controller and they'll be absolutely lost.

It looks like a cellphone, except with a TV remote on the face, instead of the, er, cellphone part.
But for all the complaints people have about the Wii, this is why it is successful - it's got like 5 buttons, and doesn't look daunting at all. I couldn't even imagine trying to show my girlfriend or parents how to use this monstrosity.

Terrible piece of sh*t.
The L1 and L2 (along with the R1 and R2) buttons are beside each other rather than infront and behind each other.
It's got this horrible gritty black finish and it's uncomfartably thick. As for those 'thumbsticks', pushing them forward reslts in them slipping to the side, so you'll end up (In an FPS/TPS) strafing instead of runinng forward.
DO NOT BUY!
I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for this crap.

I have a sneaking suspicion this isn't intended to play games, just for the media center and web browsing functions.
