Yep, Ys has beautiful music, sadly, I can't get this because I live in South America, maybe if I pre-order it from some website they will have the soundtrack too?

I got Ys VI ost already, and I really want the music from the 1st two, it was incredible.

I have never played any of the Ys series. How do they compare to other RPGs from that era? I can't help but wonder if Atlus is just trying to cash in on the nostalgia craze that this last year has brought to gaming.

Actually, Ys is more action than rpg, menu use is minimal and there are few pieces of quipment compared to others rpg. You also level up but how much hp or atack you get is fixed, and max level is 20. And the battle for the 1st two games is ramming into the enemies until you kill them (in a strategic way though). So, Ys is not gameplay oriented, but more story oriented, and with great memorable music (it adds to the ambient of the story).

Still, while the gameplay is limited, specially the customization of the character, ramming into the enemies is fun, and hard sometimes (the last boss of Ys 1 is frustrating). And the story is great (and only understood is you play both games, as the 1st one ends in a cliffhanger), and the music is epic. This game is a 1st day buy.
