Resident Evil 5 Demo graphical comparison called in favor of the Xbox 360

Resident Evil 5 is going to look fantastic no matter where you play it but when the two console demos are put head-to-head, which one do you think has the graphical edge? You guessed it, it's the Xbox 360.

Dot50Cal over at The-Horror.com put together a fantastic gallery of screen shots from both versions of the demo. While both look great, Dot50Cal notes that the Xbox 360 version appears to be a few builds ahead of the PS3; shadows and sharpness appear to be the major difference. But don't go too crazy X-heads, these comparisons are based on a demo and not the final game and some only show very small differences. Check out Dot50Cal's images for a closer look.

And this is a suprice??? The Xbox GPU always has better image quality then the ps3.

If you're keeping score at home, I have 25 games for my 360 (not counting Arcade) and 1 for PS3. Still, I'm not asinine enough to say f*** PS3 owners. Between your spelling and your insipid statements, you've exposed yourself as a complete douchebag.

I own both systems. Each has their plus and minuses. I wouldnt blame anyone for picking either system. Just a matter of personal choice!

these graphical comparisons arent really a big deal cause the differences are usually always very minor, but there are some people who are so damn headstrong that they will never see the differences,

my cousin swears the Ps3 is superior in graphics and tries to make fun of my 360 but I just ignore him cause there's no point in arguing over graphics, he swears fallout 3 is lame cause he thinks the vault boy mascot is lame.

and there are still some people who swear that bottled water tastes radically better than tap water...

but when you get down to it, theyre both the same quality.

You can't tell in our images because they are so small but you should check out the feature at the-horror. Some of those comparison shots have very noticeable differences.

That made me laugh since I live in a town whose tap water hasn't past health code in 25 years and is about as healthy for you as getting an x-ray everyday.

There are definitely some differences in the mouse-over comparisons linked to in the article. I think the best examples are the meat and helicopter pics. But honestly, it's not enough to even care about when playing either version.

One of the last shots, they point out that the PS3 versions doesn't have self shading. Check out the shadows from the girls hair and her microphone on the 360 version. The shadows are missing from the PS3 version.

Also, you can notice some HUGE textural differences. The 360 looks way better. Which is the opposite I would have thought. I thought that was supposed to be better on the PS3.

Though, like the article on Horror says, these are demo's and the PS3 version could be a build or two behind.

Honestly, on the link, the biggest difference will be in the image, Shader Quality 1&2, but that's it. Am I the only one that's glad that Capcom is trying to close the gap in the differences between each console version? Or that their trying to reach near perfection in their RE game? (Yes, I've played the 360 demo) BTW, the image right next to the its picture is not the same one, you have to click on the image, then scroll on or off it to see the comparison picture.

The water at my house is tinted yellow. I think bottled water just may be slightly better. =/

I cannot wait for this game. The images in the link are noticeably sharper on the 360... but that doesn't justify a 360 purchase if you already own a PS3. Cross plateform titles carry little weight in differences. 1st party exclusives are where the meat is at. Killzone 2 looks fantastic... Gears 2 looks fantastic. It's good to know that 360 fans are not missing a beat though as PS3 owners like to think they have the superior system. lol

care about. Screw the other characters. This movies looks like a total
dud... but it will have a cult following cause of Kristin Kreuk this

Wow....... It is very noticeable. Check the images on the source link. The detail on the zombies and meat is practically non-existent on the PS3

I love the franchises that go on the 360 for the first time... and look better than the PS3.

I have to say that I enjoy my PS3 more than my 360 (although I get plenty of use and good times out of my 360). There's no denying, however, that the 360 shots look a lot nicer than the PS3 ones. Looking at the site it does mention that the PS3 demo was probably an earlier build. Hopefully things will be on par with each other when the game is launched.

I can see differences, but honestly I have to be really stare over it in most of the shots. In motion, I have to imagine 99% of this won't make any difference to anyone...

Personally I just hope the game turns out well. I don't care if the version I have kicks up more dust on the ground lol. I'm just glad the 360 is finally getting a RE game.

So it looks like the 360 version will sell more copies, shouldn't really surprise anyone.

It's because it's made on the 360 first and ported over to PS3.
If it had been the other way around the PS3 would look better.
I am no fanboy because I own both consoles.

That's why I got my GTA4 and will get RE5 on the 360 and got Burnout Paradise on the PS3 insted of the 360.
If you look closely at both versions of any multiplattform game, the dieffrence is HUGE.

You guys are living in a fantasy world if you think one version looks better than the other. It's time to grow up and stop with this nonsense.

hmm, yeah the 360 version does look better from the demo, definitely a lot sharper

Although I definitely prefer the colours in the PS3 version, looks a lot more realistic.
Hope they make the 360's more like that in the final version.

I don't see a difference. This is the most pathetic graphics comparison I've ever seen. (And they're usually pretty pathetic.)

It's a close call on those, though PS3 seems to be lower contrast ingame and softer visual (hiding the jaggies?).
360 has screen tear, ps3 drops frames..
the 'lesser' PS3 version seems to be down to the lack of pipelines on the PS3 gpu, could even be the lack of RAM (that's available to games) too

reading further down, they're using component.. I've been using HDMI too long, I can't go back, but the game should look better than this when it's released

At the end of the day, this really doesn't matter, and the people who make graphical comparisons are really just doing it to incite flame wars.
99% of this won't be noticeable during movement anyways.

i have a slower internet connection so when the pics were loading i thought that the ps3 version looks better exept i didnt know which version is it yet , so you cant call me fanboy or shit but look at shiva's clothes (the pants and the sun glare on her tits) i think the ps3 version looks better.
