The shop really doesn't help with difficulty, except in a few cases.

My brother has never played Mega Man games before, but now he's actually cleared 6 of the Robot Masters. I know he would give up if he didn't have a shop for extra lives and spike guards.

"Capcom management wanted 3D Mega Man 9"

Gee, why does that not surprise me. And that was probably despite the fact that nobody liked X7/X8.

X7 is fantastic.

X8 is okay.

If the games were similar to the Mega Man Legends series, I would love it.

If it was like Mega Man X7, then I wouldn't buy it out of mediocrity.

I'll take 3D Mega Man in the form of Powered Up! 2 (or just MM 10 with the PU! design). Powered Up! was a fantastic game, loved the art direction, would be perfect on WiiWare, XBLA, PSN, PSP, and even NDS (NSMB isn't too dissimilar).

Capcom management is awesome for allowing NES graphics.

Seriously, Capcom does everything the fans want, always. I love that, such an awesome company.

My thoughts exactly. I would actually prefer some HD and Widescreen luv as long as the 2D 8-bit gameplay stays 100% intact.

I hear the sounds of Sonic rolling his eyes and shedding some tears for what might have been...

Retro graphics definitely have a certain novelty about them. However, having just downloaded SSF2THDR on the PS3, it is also nice, if not preferable, to meld classic gameplay with contemporary graphics and sound. It's almost painful to switch to the original sprites after looking at the updated HD graphics.I, for one, would love to see a graphically updated classic Mega Man game and it'd be great to have that option in MM9.

Thats the difference between 8bit and 16bit, 8bit has more of a charming and distintive look to it(and sound) where as 16bit just looks like modern graphics in a low resolution.
