Couldn't agree more.

The Wii was the first console this gen and my first Nintendo console since the SNES. It was fun for about an hour than the gimmicky controls wore off. I played a few Wii games and there are a few good games such as Zelda, MP3, SMG , No More Heroes and a few more. But when you have a console that very very few 3rd party devs give a $hit about and when Nintendo seem to have forgot about its hardcore fans , Wii Music anyone?
Its hard for any hardcore gamer to enjoy the console, but i did the clever thing and got a 360, now the only use i get from it is the homebrew channel where i can use emulators.

Poor kid. I wonder how long he'll play it before he realizes it isn't that fun.

That just tells me you haven't invested in any decent games.

Sorry, but I'll be honest. I've gotten just about every decent Wii game out there. It was fun for awhile, but... Since Brawl, I rarely touch my Wii, except to try new games, which I end up bored with. Even Brawl feels too tailored for casual gamers to enjoy... most hardcore gamers I know decided to stick with Melee after playing through everything Brawl had, and the only ones I know who prefer Brawl seem to be casual gamers. Yes, there is the occassional gem, but nothing that makes me get more playtime on it than my 360, and I own like three 360 games and well over a few dozen Wii ones.

Still, at that age, I think he might get some excitement... ah, to be young and naive...

btw, before you flame me, I'm a longtime Nintendo fan and have defended Nintendo long past when they should have been. Something tells me you are being a stubborn fanboy... :)

Haha don't jump too quickly to conclusions buddy, Wii is the first nintendo console I have owned since the NES. I have bought into the PS franchise every other year.

There is truth to what you are saying but i think you are being way to harsh to the little box ^^

Well it's not about the console... it's about... the overwhelming excitement you feel as a kid opening a present you longed for.

I liked the Nintendo 64 reaction better. Aah... the days...

I don't remember the N64 kid looking like he might turn himself inside-out at any moment.

I'd probably be happier opening a brand new N64 than a brand new Wii today.

But I guess that's because I already have both, and the N64's a classic.

The Wii one is such a contrived reaction, the N64 one is a classic.

Just amazing. . .It is really too bad that alot of youger kids play the Wii and get bored afer a few months. Its aimed at little ones but the parents never buy them more games and the gimmick wares off fast. Who knows maybe this kid will actually get more games, and live the full Wii experince.

So true. I didn't mean to sound like a Wii hater in my previous post. The Wii does have some good games. The majority of which are made better by playing with a Gamecube controller, but good games nonetheless. I own all three consoles, so I guess that classifies me as "hardcore", but Nintendo really needs to get their act together because the "hardcore" are the ones who will support them in the long run.

I am (slightly) ashamed of my country. But thankfully, he's still not as irritating as the N64 kid.

How old is the N64 kid now, anyways?

When do you think it'd be a good time to tell the kid, that due to the recession / credit crunch Mom and Dad had to sell the TV so they could afford to buy the Wii

8-)

I guess "little Jimmy" could also do with a prozac shake for breakfast...

Is it wrong for me to hope that the twist in the N64 video was that inside of it was a sweater?

I haven't played my Wii in months and the only reason I haven't gotten rid of it is because my girlfriend doesn't want me to (she doesn't play it either). I bought an xbox 360 a month ago and haven't really looked at the Wii. I feel bad, but the xbox 360 has much more going for it. Want to play lag free games over the internet (yes, you do have to pay $50 a year, but it's worth it) and be able to talk to them? I don't have to worry about p.i.t.a. Wii Friend Codes AND Codes for each game. It's much more user friendly, and I can rent movies, buy movies, play games. Only downside on the xbox 360 is the many red rings of death that have happened to the systems. Maybe Nintendo doesn't have such a problem because there aren't as many people playing it.
