7-in-1 USB charging cable is for the bold and thrifty
Are you tired of dealing with the tumbleweed of cords responsible for siphoning power into your GBA SP, DS Phat, DS Lite, DSi, and your three different PSP models? Do you only have seven bucks with which to remedy said problem? Are you brave enough to trust a third-party company whose promotional materials feature glaring typos (we trust you can find it in the above image) with moving electricity from one of your expensive electronic devices into another? Can we turn your attention to Brando's 7-in-1 USB Charging Cable, the perfect gift for those who meet the criteria listed above? Can we write this whole post only using interrogative sentences? Yes, we can. Aw, crap.

Henry... you just summed up my childhood.
Luke @ Jan 5th 2009 12:54AM
Is there anyone who didn't do that?
Alzheimers @ Jan 5th 2009 1:46PM
And don't step on the black tiles at the supermarket. Just like in the beginning of "Raiders of the Lost Ark", poison darts will shoot out from the walls at you if you do.
Archon @ Jan 4th 2009 2:07PM
Wait... Does that mean that the DSi bears a YET-ANOTHER-TYPE of charger port... Why Nintendo? Why? Why does every single handheld you make need a new AC adapter? You're killing me, as a collector...
Superstar90 @ Jan 4th 2009 2:08PM
WTF is a USB SOLT?
Morisato @ Jan 4th 2009 2:16PM
You dont know? You need to get with the times. USB Solts are USB slots of the future... straight from hong kong to power your mabile fones faster than ever.
(The Award-Winning) dark_inchworm @ Jan 4th 2009 2:43PM
It's a good enough reason for me to avoid buying this.
Haggard @ Jan 4th 2009 3:04PM
Ah, I was still looking for the typo. Thanks, kind sir.
Negativecool @ Jan 4th 2009 2:18PM
You know how they tell you not to plug to many things into an outlet?...
Yea..
Cody @ Jan 4th 2009 2:21PM
Since when is a USB Slot and outlet?
Negativecool @ Jan 4th 2009 2:31PM
Erm...maybe because USB is a power source as well?
And this product will allow a bunch of different things to be plugged into that power source at once..
It was a silly joke made in jest dude, don't twist your brain over it.
Asok @ Jan 5th 2009 6:45AM
@Cody
Not a slot, a solt. Get your facts straight before you post.
Lekko @ Jan 4th 2009 2:22PM
Seriously, world..
New year's resolution for 2009 to all electronics makers:
Charge everything via USB, please. PLEASE
bvhj @ Jan 4th 2009 2:25PM
I prefer charging things from the mains, because if I want to charge my phone or my mp3 player I don't want to have to leave my computer on, I see charging via USB more of an inconvenience, but I think that you should have the option to do both.
Kelly @ Jan 4th 2009 2:26PM
damn kids and their new fangled contraptions
sam @ Jan 4th 2009 3:07PM
@bvhj - no problem, they just need to make mains chargers with USB cables. (Pretty sure you can already buy these, in fact.) That way, every single product you buy doesn't need to ship with its own mains adapter, because you already have one.
That said, I think the power limits might make this impractical with current USB2 standards (at least for things like larger cameras).
@whoever asked why they changed it - probably because it has a different battery and needs different charging voltage etc, but I agree it's annoying.
I think there was some move among phone manufacturers to standardise on charging ports, not sure if this got anywhere, but if it does, hopefully other devices will take up the new standard too. Or USB. Whatever.
Foetoid @ Jan 4th 2009 7:43PM
Yeah i've got one of those Sam. An old phone i bought only comes with a USB charger, so they also bundled in the mains-usb adaptor. It's quite small too.
Negativecool @ Jan 4th 2009 2:34PM
"CONNECT TO 'ANY USB SOLTS'"
WTF is a solt? Jeez, these new fangled gizmos always getting new connections...it's gonna take me forever to find my USB solts!
juangrande386 @ Jan 4th 2009 2:45PM
I didnt think PSP Phat could charge over usb
Lee @ Jan 4th 2009 3:09PM
I think it can thanks to the M33 firmware.
NukeAssault @ Jan 4th 2009 3:24PM
You don't need custom firmware to charge over USB.
Salsa Shark @ Jan 4th 2009 5:57PM
It's not using USB to charge the PSP...look at the adapter tip.
DBuck_Eye @ Jan 4th 2009 6:13PM
Doesn't the PSP Phat (
Moptimus Slime @ Jan 4th 2009 2:46PM
7-in-1? I count 5 power supplies, Griffin, 1 of which is the USB port itself. Is there something I'm missing?
Nincodedo @ Jan 4th 2009 2:50PM
PSP 3000, 2000, 1000, DSi, DSL, DS, and GBASP.
I guess that is how they are counting it. :/
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Jan 4th 2009 3:28PM
Then why stop at 7 then? Count in every model of MP3, too.
Mike @ Jan 5th 2009 1:25AM
That thing has power supplies?? Damn!
Superstar90 @ Jan 4th 2009 2:50PM
I like USB chargers, but there should always be the option of wall-socket chargers.
It's annoying having to turn on my computer and leave it on to charge my ipod.
Shadow08 @ Jan 9th 2009 1:36AM
True, but they already have USB to wall outlet adapters. Apple sells one (probably overpriced though) for the iPod.
Shmil @ Jan 4th 2009 8:27PM
What we really should have, is USB wall outlets.
Luke @ Jan 5th 2009 12:59AM
You can plug stuff into the wii and charge off that. As long as you have wii connect on.
EMaster @ Jan 4th 2009 3:02PM
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.17983 < the same thing only 3 bucks instead of 7. I buy fromt hse guys all the time so they are ok.
j.howlett @ Jan 4th 2009 4:39PM
i might go for that
zuburi @ Jan 4th 2009 5:00PM
Damn yo, those deals be extreme!
Lekko @ Jan 4th 2009 3:20PM
I just want a standard port for charging everything. USB already charges a lot of things from bluetooth headsets, to some phones, to PS3 controllers, down to those little keychain digital picture thingies.
It wouldn't be that hard to just make everything charge the same way. Besides, if everything DID charge off USB, or some other standard method, than pretty much everything would have a USB charger on it.
Lekko @ Jan 4th 2009 3:21PM
that was actually supposed to be a reply to myself...
grrr
ice~ @ Jan 4th 2009 3:48PM
I'm going to buy 2 of these, 2 of every console, and plug them in and see how long it takes for my computer to fucking explode
Superstar90 @ Jan 4th 2009 4:30PM
Can you film it?
Sora @ Jan 5th 2009 2:02AM
Protip: If you fill up an entire USB hub with some of these, you could blow up the whole house instead.
ice~ @ Jan 5th 2009 7:35AM
I will gladly film it, just mail me the amount of money 3 ds' 3 psp's and a GBASP would cost.
WiNG LifeInAGame.com @ Jan 4th 2009 6:04PM
Does this work with Gameboy Micro?
(yes, I own one)
Lee @ Jan 4th 2009 6:47PM
So? Quite a few people do. I have one and they were all the rage at my uni.
And no. It doesn't.

Same cable but white, loses the DSi connector but adds an iPod connector. iPod connector also supports data transfer. $13.
I do have to agree that DX has the better deal, and no shipping.
Donald @ Jan 4th 2009 10:27PM
Brando? Is this charger doo-hickey thing rich in electrolytes?
Asok @ Jan 5th 2009 6:47AM
