7-in-1 USB charging cable is for the bold and thrifty
52
Are you tired of dealing with the tumbleweed of cords responsible for siphoning power into your GBA SP, DS Phat, DS Lite, DSi, and your three different PSP models? Do you only have seven bucks with which to remedy said problem? Are you brave enough to trust a third-party company whose promotional materials feature glaring typos (we trust you can find it in the above image) with moving electricity from one of your expensive electronic devices into another? Can we turn your attention to Brando's 7-in-1 USB Charging Cable, the perfect gift for those who meet the criteria listed above? Can we write this whole post only using interrogative sentences? Yes, we can. Aw, crap.

Wait... Does that mean that the DSi bears a YET-ANOTHER-TYPE of charger port... Why Nintendo? Why? Why does every single handheld you make need a new AC adapter? You're killing me, as a collector...

Erm...maybe because USB is a power source as well?
And this product will allow a bunch of different things to be plugged into that power source at once..
It was a silly joke made in jest dude, don't twist your brain over it.

@bvhj - no problem, they just need to make mains chargers with USB cables. (Pretty sure you can already buy these, in fact.) That way, every single product you buy doesn't need to ship with its own mains adapter, because you already have one.
That said, I think the power limits might make this impractical with current USB2 standards (at least for things like larger cameras).
@whoever asked why they changed it - probably because it has a different battery and needs different charging voltage etc, but I agree it's annoying.
I think there was some move among phone manufacturers to standardise on charging ports, not sure if this got anywhere, but if it does, hopefully other devices will take up the new standard too. Or USB. Whatever.

You don't need custom firmware to charge over USB.

7-in-1? I count 5 power supplies, Griffin, 1 of which is the USB port itself. Is there something I'm missing?

Then why stop at 7 then? Count in every model of MP3, too.

I like USB chargers, but there should always be the option of wall-socket chargers.
It's annoying having to turn on my computer and leave it on to charge my ipod.

I just want a standard port for charging everything. USB already charges a lot of things from bluetooth headsets, to some phones, to PS3 controllers, down to those little keychain digital picture thingies.
It wouldn't be that hard to just make everything charge the same way. Besides, if everything DID charge off USB, or some other standard method, than pretty much everything would have a USB charger on it.

Same cable but white, loses the DSi connector but adds an iPod connector. iPod connector also supports data transfer. $13.
I do have to agree that DX has the better deal, and no shipping.

One of the things i love about mobiles in japan (compared to the UK) is that the phones from each provider all have the same slot, which can be used for charging or for usb transfer.
Heck, when you buy the phone they don't even give you an adapter unless you ask for it, they assume you already have one...
Why can't all devices use the same adapter? Eco anyone?
