Rumor: LEGO Rock Band in development

According to videogaming247 and their super secret "source", LEGO franchise developer Traveller's Tales is currently hard at work on their latest brick game: LEGO Rock Band.

Supposedly, during a Radio One interview, a UK Traveller's Tales employee confirmed that they're working on a new LEGO game and that it's releasing in 2009, but exact specifics were withheld. That game being LEGO Rock Band, or so says videogaming247 and their sources who claim their information is "100 percent correct." LEGOs and Rock Band? It's an odd mix, but it could be tasty. Kinda like potato chip and peanut butter sandwiches.

Sounds like Rock Band. With Lego characters. Can't think of what else they'd do. Except Lego guitars, that would be cool!

If this is true they gotta have Fell In Love Witha Girl by the White Stripes. Hehe. But somehow I get the feeling this rumor is false.

nah if this is true they won't have it. jack asked lego to include some bricks to make them with every single and they said no and then it became a hit and they asked if they could do it and he basically said f*** off. a guy could wish though.

Then you should know the proper spelling is LEGO bricks, with LEGO in all caps.

Back on topic, I'm gonna say no. Why not just have some DLC that allows you to make your players look like LEGO figures?

And now I must go get the bricks to make my own LEGO drum set as pictured.

I really liked Lego Star Wars. Mostly because I am a huge Star Wars and therefore it was a fun way to play through the stories.

Though these Lego things are getting ridiculous. And this is just going way to far.

I honestly cannot see the point in doing this!

Perhaps it will be some sort of Rock Band themed platformer and music will be your weapon against the oppressive confines of athority.

Now that would be outrageously sweeet!

OK I've been a big fan of all the LEGO games so far... but this is just getting stupid if it's true.

I can see this being a Xbox Live Arcade game...that would be pretty cool just release a XBLA Lego Rock Band, still play like the real Rock Band but just with lego characters in the back ground, have 10 or so songs in it charge 800 points and support it with downloadable songs and you got yourself a winner.

Make this a full retail game and you just have yourself a failure and you have one of the worst ideas ever.

i would consider buying more plastic instruments, times like this i wish i got music games on the 360 first

i heard another rumor that the next lego game was going to be "lego harry potter" which i think is more realistic then a "lego rock band"...

I understand the appeal of Lego movie/comic license games, but I don't really understand what the appeal of this would be.

I don't care if it's true or not I'm just getting tired of all the music games, enough is enough. We've had something like 5 in a year I think? Can't they just add stuff to these games with DLC?

Lego Guitar Hero yes, Rock Bank no. I don't buy it. This goes against the principles Harmonix was built on. (pun intended)

thats a stupid ass rumor, so you'd have to buy rock band again just to have LEGO characters, dumb idea, keep with the LEGO Harry Potter.

Why can't they just make a LEGO game where you build things?

i would so buy that provided you could build the instruments out of bricks.
