3 months of Xbox Live free with Gears 2 purchase

Worth it for the campaign.

They had also had prince of persia for 50$ last week, I tell ya. Amazon is good with prices. Hell, the turtle beach X3 just turned to 80$ a couple of days ago.

It may be worth it for the campaign, however this game should be discounted further for its lack of a good multiplayer experience. I don't remember GOW ever getting discounted like this. It was still $59.99 at Wal*Mart upto a month or so before launch of GOW2. Sounds like they don't expect to get the follow through sales on this game like the previous. I personally played GOW for 6 months. I played GOW2 for 2 weeks and left quickly for the superior Call of Duty: World at War. What a let down.

ive rented gears 2 twice now and i doubt ill ever buy it: almost everything they 'added' couldve been dlc for gears and some major changes really ruined the game for me..

1. the matchmaking actually got worse after they removed the lobby search from gow and their half-assed patch job didnt do much if anything at all..

2. chainsawing is more a necessity than an option: any idiot with a lancer and a b button can walk right thru multiple shots and cut most ppl in half..

3. I want GRIDLOCK! i get the whole 'buyers incentives' idea but it still sucks. 80-90% of my gow kills were on gridlock1.0 and i havent seen the new gridlock in person yet. :(

The new executions are nice but i still havent done them all and i still wish there were more: execution combos? execution dlc? team executions?

Seriously was a challenge, 2.0 is just stupid. grenade tagging is still a b!tch move but at least its a tactical option now: they did give smoke grenades a legit purpose too. gotta give em credit for that.

GotY = not for me and i was obsessed with gow. Fable 2 maybe? can i pick Bioshock again? Portal?

I think this should be permanent... 1-3 months of gold for every MGS published game.

They are trying to make people buy that crap by throwing in 3 months of gold.

Good game, but I'm sick of people seriously saying it deserves game of the year. The game of the year award should go to a game that has working matchmaking. Just sayin.
