Molyneux: 2009 release calender 'all looking a bit dry'

How absurd. Of course it's looking dry. It's January! Everything will be crammed into October, as usual. As for the pricing thing, why don't we try a few lower-budget, higher-quality games instead of these gigantic, world-destroying releases? I'm a bit sick of AAA games, myself.

HL2: EP3 would be really great.

He clearly is only talking about the Xbox 360 here because 2009 is already loaded with awesome Sony exclusives like Killzone 2, Uncharthed II, GOW III, inFamous, Heavy Rain, etc... He is being very dismissive of these great games because he works for Microsoft.

Lots of games already mentioned that I'm looking forward to. But no one mentioned Star Ocean 4. I hope Square-Enix did a good job with that one.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2.

So every year without his so called "hype machine" is a failure in his book ? I guess we can live with that..

Yeah, kinda true.

But honestly all I need is StarCraft 2 to keep my gaming needs satisfied for quite some time. Unfortunately that game likely won't be released until the end of this year :(

I'm really excited about Dark Void, ODST, Saboteur, FEAR 2, Alpha Protocol, Batman Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Dragon Age a whole load of other games I cant think of but I know I will later, and not to mention unannounced hopefuls like Mass Effect 2 or HL Ep 3.
I feel like this year is gonna be even better than last year

Microsoft's lineup is looking a little weak at the moment, but they'll likely announce a few big hitters at their games convention in a few weeks, just as they've done the past few years. (Remember we didn't even know about Gears 2 until this convention last year)

I prefer that approach over Sony, who've been hyping the same few games for the past few years.

He should have code-named his project "Reznov" instead.

People said this exact thing at the end of 2007 and going into 2008. There were numerous things we didn't know about then that came out in 2008.

Though who knows, as every year can be different, I am hoping there are numerous releases that are waiting to be announced.

I am really hoping for Mass Effect 2 and would make sense, since BioWare initially said that they would like to have the whole trilogy on the 360 and if it were to come out Holiday 09, that would mean 2 years from the last one. Which seems like a decent amount of time since they don't have to totally remake the engine. (Perfect sure, but not make it from the ground up)

He is right, though. It won't be as good as last year, or 2007 even.

Peter Molyneux is dry, theres a bunch of games i am excited for, leave to to a mediocre(IMHO) game designer to say that theres nothing great coming this year, i beg to differ, RE5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Given that I did not buy CoD WaW cuz I didnt like the BETA, I an really looking forward to CoDMW2 a lot.

Hopefully Borderlands... and hopefully not until I'm done with the stack of like 11-12 games I have to finish this year. Fallout 3 will probably take me months as is.. I need more vacation days. :)

The years looking pretty good to me.. But my taste is less top 40 and more eclectic..

Resident evil 5.........Other then 0, I've never been disappointed with a main Resident evil game..

Halo wars... Love Rts games, even on consoles..

TMNT... smash Bros Clone, being worked on by some of the smash bros and team ninja people.. Huge potential for me..

Ghost Busters Wii or HD.. Big Ghost busters fan.

PUNCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!.. As long as they keep the classic look and gameplay, this will rock.

Mad World... The list of games these Platinum games folk have worked on in the past is pretty impressive.

Little Kings Story... Pikmin + Harvest Moon?!? Yes please.

Rune Factory Frontier.. Action/rpg + Harvest Moon?!? I'll take this as well..

House of the Dead Overkill.. As long as this is better then umbrella chronicles I'll be happy.

The Conduit... I love playing Fps with the wiimote, hate the boring selection of fps for the wii (world war 2)..

Sin and Punishment 2.. Never played the first, but if its half as good as ikuruga I'm good to go.

New Halo (whatever its called).. Bungie is one of the few if not the only one that gets fps game's local and online mulitplayer right.

I'm hoping to hear something about Black and White 3. I still find myself going back to play B&W 2 and would love to see a follow up. I heard somewhere that there were plans at one point to make 5 sequels.

lol... D3. SC is gonna be delayed ( but they should take their time ). KZ2, ODST, ( hopefully a FFXI demo ). BTW Fable 2 is over-rated. I played it, snore so boring. Weapons and clothing all the same and yes I read the GI article with Fable's art director. Yet again BORING BORING. Just when it got somewhat decent it ended. Hyped shit IMO.

The year that just ended is the best year ever, and the next year has no games coming out. Peter Molyneux gets on my last nerve. He thinks he can say pompous shit for some reason same with Will Wright. And neither of them make good games anymore.
