Rumor: Design studio leaks Forza 3 artwork
This has been making the rounds for a couple of weeks now, but in case you missed it over the holidays, Kaarbo Design owner Noah Kaarbo allegedly let slip (and then promptly removed, but not before Google cached it) some of the sample work his company had done for Forza developer Turn 10 Studios and -- cue the fake surprise -- Forza 3.
Community site Forzacentral managed to grab all four posters, which are said to be samples of what could have appeared on the race selection screen. Of course, this doesn't confirm the existence of another Forza game per se, but should Microsoft Games Studios decide to maybe revisit the successful racing franchise, it looks like it already has a logo to use.

Really hitting that Rock Band aesthetic.

Well rock band didn't start that look, it's been growing for years online. Though I don't think the effeminate look of this design (in particular the "O"s) in any way suit a racing game! Look at burnout paradise, it borrows heavily from this style but stays in a fairly neutral form. In fact I would go as far as saying those pics look like burnout paradise for girls! Of course its not and shouldn't mean a thing when you are playing the game... just... sigh.

Looks awesome, i have over 200 hours into forza 2.I cant wait for this one.Hopefully they have some type of system like rock band were you can transfer some cars into part 3.
Wubbytoes @ Jan 5th 2009 2:25PM
Man, that would be awesome. I have some cars that I've spent an unbelievable amount of time and fake money on. No matter what though, a new Forza game is definitely welcome.
BxGT @ Jan 5th 2009 2:33PM
Rock band started this trend and i think now is the time to popularize it.Why do we have to lose all data when we buy a sequel like this.Tho i wouldn't mind starting another new game lol i am on my fourth in forza 2.

I'd prefer they work on the actual racing game portion more this time and leave the eBay aspects behind. Forza 2 removed a bunch of tracks compared to Forza 1, which was really sad.
Turn 10: more racing, less car skinning, please.

I'm sure there will be a Forza 3, but haven't we seen previous situations where some graphic design firm or another would put together artwork for a bid that they would send to one of the big console makers for a project (solicited, unsolicited) and then it turns out they were rejected?
I guess this is a Forza year though (PGR4 and Forza 2 released in 2007 but that was because Forza was delayed, and I'm assuming that PGR5 will be delayed because of the presumed change in teams).

I love the Forza series (and the GT series, until Forza came out)
My one problem with these games is the learning curve when it comes to tuning... and replayability. Theres been a FEW times that i have wanted to go back to Forza 2, but once i see the tuning screen i get scared away... as i dont have the time to re-learn how to tune a car perfectly
Sometimes i wish these games came with a "tuner helper" that would figure out your driving style and give you advice....
ronEbear @ Jan 5th 2009 3:09PM
I`d buy THAT for a dollar.

gran turismo and madden both let you move content between different generations of games.

Front wheel drive poster has my car, the Scion tC, on it. The only thing I don't like about the car is that it's front wheel drive.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Jan 5th 2009 10:30PM
The fact that you need to put a blower in it to make it powerful enough to get out of its own way isn't an issue? It's sad they have to supercharge the engine just to put celebs in it for the Grand Prix race in Long Beach. The Celica never needed such a thing.
It was a sad day when the Celica GT-S was killed in favor of the tC. Toyota really should have at least brought the 180HP motor over.
Josh120 @ Jan 5th 2009 10:55PM
True enough, the tC seems to be advertising itself as a car that it isn't, which is a shame. Still, I happen to like it and find it a very good balance for the money. Course, I didn't buy a brand new one for 20k. The things you need to do to it to get it up to snuff are insane; you're better off going with a different vehicle altogether if that's what you really want. I agree that the Celica shouldn't have had to die for it.

I'd say they look most like the official 2007 Formula 1 posters:

Looks nice. The names of the races really have more of a PGR or maybe even a Gran Turismo feel to them. But either way, they look good. I'd love to look forward to this game, but until MS gets their head out of their ass and lets me use a good wheel with the 360 (not the horrid MS Racing Wheel) it's never going to reach the pinnacle.
It's really too bad, since Polyphony Digital can't seem to release more than 1 game a decade, I'd love to see a Forza that is the complete package, including a good wheel.

Fake.

For example the 4th pic with the GT500 is just the above link photoshopped in...poorly. The other pictures are also just slightly modified wallpapers of the respective cars.
