The best thing you'll see today: Metal Gear voice cast improv

A mere five days into the new year and our sanity is being brought into question. Is this video after the break really what it seems to be? The principal voice cast of Metal Gear Solid 4 improvising a group therapy session during which the lines between their real selves and the characters they portray break down with high-larious results? Yep, it is.

UltraNeko, host of the YouTube series Sadie's Gaming Infection, somehow managed to get David Hayter (Solid Snake), Jennifer Hale (Naomi Hunter), Paul Eiding (Col. Campbell), Christopher Randolph (Otacon), and Quinton Flynn (Raiden) into one room for one of the most bizarre -- yet entertaining -- gaming-related videos we've ever seen.

Things we learned from watching the video: David Hayter likes to CQC random people on the street; Christopher Randolph thinks his cat is a real Metal Gear Mk. II; oh, and Quinton Flynn seems to really want to be the star of the next MGS. Raiden starring in MGS5 -- surely a joke, right? What's next? Area 51 is actually a secret stronghold of The Patriots? Sure. Hit the break and prepare to leave reality behind.

I couldn't tell you. I stopped that train-wreck at the 4min mark. That was easily the most painful thing I've seen in years.

You are going to awaken the Metal Gear Brigade of Enchantment who think Metal Gear is the greatest game franchise of all time, who think David Hayter is the greatest voice talent to ever grace a microphone, who think Kojima is the greatest mind since Davinci despite his ultra nationalistic leanings and bloated sense of self worth.

David Hayter and Christopher Randolph made all the good jokes.

I watched this a day or two ago, but off the top of my head:

Hayter: "Does anyone mind if I go into an 18 minute monologue?"

Randolph: "He keeps on phoning me in the middle of the night and asking me what to do."

Hayter: "Personally I'd feel most comfortable if Paul [Campbell] spent the next few hours telling me exactly what to do."

Randolph: "SNAAAAAAAAKE!?"

I'm not even a hardcore fan of the MGS series, but found this very funny just listening to it.

Sorry. Definitely not the best thing I've seen today.

Hayter whispering Snake Eater at the end made it, to be honest.

It's nice to see more people watching Sadie's videos. SGI is awesome, I recommend it.

I was under the impression this was a professionally put together thing. That it was just someone on Youtube makes it even more impressive. 0_0

Someone from Youtube?! A female that takes interest in video games!? She was able to get a large portion of the Metal Gear Solid cast?! I can save over $200 dollars by switching to Geico?! 0_0

Some parts are a bit painful, particularly Randolph abusing the already-abused "SNAAAAAAAKE" joke, but it has its moments.

David Hayter is amazing.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned when Hayter and Flynn switched seats in the middle of the video.

David Hayter could do Solid Snake in a movie
Paul could totally do Col. Campbell

But the other actors look too different than their characters.

especially Cristopher Randolph and Quintin Flynn

If you don't watch the video, and just listen, it's very funny.

Like the part when otacon said he's proud about making his bed. I listened to it first and thought it was funny. But then i replayed it and watched the video, and it was lame. Just use your imagination. However, if you saw the video already, it's obviously too late.

I wish Cam Clarke was there, in all his flamboyant glory.

Though I did like the joke about the main character chair and the Mark II cat. ;]

I think it was pretty funny, especially nearing the end.

Quinton Flynn and Jennifer Hale are some of my favorite voice actors (not to mention the rest of the cast, don't get me wrong). Metal Gear always did well with their voice actors XD. Great at their job and having a little fun with the fandom.
