WiiWare
Sandy Beach (Konami, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): First, the good news: Yes, you can build sand castles in this game, either at your leisure or facing off against swarms of crabs in the Defend Your Castle-esque Crab Battle mode. The bad news? Well, it wasn't the first Crab Battle that came to mind ...
Virtual Console
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES™, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): This title had the unfortunate luck of coming out within a week of the incredibly awesome Kirby Superstar -- great timing, Nintendo! Still, it's a fun game that happens to be just like its predecessors. We half expect the company to pull some poetic injustice and release Superstar on Virtual Console next week.

Though my need for a Wii has dwindled since it first released, I always get a tad jealous when I read about the virtual console releases.
Sony could learn something from this.

Most people in NA didn't get a chance to play it either. It came out well after the N64 had been released so many people didn't bother... now the cartridge is quite hard to find and one of the rarer SNES games. This VC release is sure to cut it's price in half.

Well, Kirby Superstar came out in all three regions. Dream Land 3 skipped PAL.

Canvas Curse begs to differ; probably my favorite original game for the system, and it's possibly the best use of the touch screen and stylus being used for a "traditional" game.

The Kirby for the GBC was pretty different and reminds me of the wii before the wii.

Hopefully Nintendo will release Kirby Dream Land 3 in the PAL regions sometime soon, Virtual Console is a great platform for Nintendo to release games that weren't previously available outside of Japan and the US, like Super Mario RPG for example.

Is Kirby 64 in the VC? I would love to play that one.

Yes it is, even though time wasn't perfectly kind to the game; it feels really, really slow compared to all the other Kirby games, and most of the game isn't quite as memorable as any other Kirby game, but still, Darth Maul Kirby is awesome.

The entire game is worth it for Darth Maul Kirby. In fact if that was the only power combination I wouldn't care, it's so awesome *.*

Over the Holidays I hooked my Wii up in my family room (because I got my wife stupid Wii Fit for Christmas) and finally got a Wifi connection to it. I bought my first VC title in Mario64 and damn I was impressed at how good it looked. It looks way better than on N64 which surprised me because I wasn't going in thinking there would be a difference. That and I got a Monster component cable for mah Wii so it looks great in all its 480p glory. Now if they could only release Killer Instinct Gold... :/

Hence the ":/"
I was actually surprised at how little N64 titles there are actually available on there.

That's getting kind of annoying, really. The service has been around for over two years now and we only have a handful of N64 games. The N64 didn't sell nearly as well as the NES and SNES, so each new N64 release should potentially be new to a lot more people than these NES and SNES games.
Come on, Nintendo. The faster you go through the N64 catalog, the faster you can release The Legend of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for me!

It's because all the best N64 games were made by Rare. Nintendo would have been completely fucked if they didn't have Rare back in the N64 days...

I'll get this when I'm back home.
Wow... Dreamland 3. Brilliant game there if there ever was one.

Really? Maybe I'll have to pick it up then. I only played the early Kirby games (Game Boy) but I always enjoyed them.

Kirby's Dreamland 3 is easily the best Kirby game. Superstar's rubbish in comparison. If you've not played a Kirby game before it's definitely worth it.
In fact... Just play it anyway, it's amazing

Oh wait, best old Kirby game. Amazing Mirror's the best one ever ^^;

It sounds silly, but Amazing Mirror is just... Amazing... Definitely the best Kirby game, and with a decent amount of replay value too. Mouse Attack was similar, but just didn't feel quite as good...

They don't need to release Super Star on VC - they re-released it on the DS with additional content.

Except, you know, the best feature of Superstar, the cooperative play, is sort of gimped on a handheld, just by the nature of the system.
Plus, I don't know about you, but not many of my friends own DS's.
