Chopped up or whole: Free Radical for sale
ReSolve Partners, which is handling the administration of Free Radical's dire situation, continues its mantra that there's "stong interest" in the company from buyers. A ReSolve spokesperson told GI.biz that the chop shop company is trying to sell Free Radical whole, but will cut the piggy up if it'll bring in more cash. ReSolve expects to know in the next ten days what pieces potential suitors are interested in picking off from the studio's still-twitching remains. If ReSolve gets lucky, a company will buy the whole hog.
Free Radical currently holds several IPs, including TimeSplitters, Second Sight and Haze. We're going to go out on a limb and say that corporate bargain bin shoppers are probably interested in only two of those IPs (Hint: It's not Haze).

Timesplitters 2 is my favourite FPS ever. Future Perfect, whilst not quite as good, is still better than just about all other shooters out there.
I'd really like a fourth, current gen one, plz.

You liked TS3?
Hyams @ Jan 6th 2009 10:27AM
Yes.
Lee @ Jan 6th 2009 11:18AM
And you say its better than most other FPS games?
Hyams @ Jan 6th 2009 11:30AM
In my *personal opinion*, yes.
TheAngryGamer @ Jan 6th 2009 11:36AM
Agreed about TS2... unquestionably in my top 3 FPSs of all time. As far as TS(3):FP, personally, I loved it almost as much as TS2. The cutscenes, and storyline were so funny that it reminded me of what video games used to be... fun.
Too many franchises take themselves too seriously. TS never did, and it was fantastic.

Any chance that all of us as gamers could pool our money and buy Free Radical? They are such a talented company that deserves to be making fun innovative games.
I don't want to see them get picked apart to waste their talent on photo realistic particle effects on Call of Duty 9: Hiroshima Uprising.

Sure, one ps3 devkit and the TS2 ps2 sourcecode for me please.
copa @ Jan 6th 2009 10:44AM
I'll throw in 4.5 dollars.
megapenguinx @ Jan 6th 2009 11:21AM
I have $700 to throw in if we can actually do this
Ninja_Nun @ Jan 6th 2009 10:43AM
Iv got £3.57 in my pocket...will that do for haze?
Lee @ Jan 6th 2009 11:19AM
With that amount you could buy Haze a few times over it's so low. Actually at my local Wendys they handed out Haze everytime they took your order. For free!
Edge @ Jan 6th 2009 10:45AM
Maybe if they chopped Haze off, the value of the company would increase. Or better yet, grind it into a fine paste and feed it to the rest of the company as nourishment.

I read somewhere that Pumpkin Beach are going to make games that are different to TimeSplitters so I really hope the series lands with someone who will take care of it.
Gillfigno @ Jan 6th 2009 12:03PM
Sure, it's no Timesplitters, but Haze is actually pretty fun. Split screen with bot's is really great and it has a kind of Timesplitters feel. Also, the story mode really picks up after you switch sides. It's not amazing but it doesn't deserve to be crapped on constantly. I'd put it beside Second Sight.
Megadanxzero @ Jan 6th 2009 4:22PM
Second Sight was one of my favourite Gamecube games ever, and one of the few that I've played more than once. I never got why hardly anyone liked it... Guns, Stealth and TELEKINESIS! What more could you want?
